Workouts set as only for followers accessible publicly via workout URL

Hi,

it seems that my workouts are visible to everyone, regardless of privacy settings set to “Followers” per workout.

I don’t use Sports Tracker explicitly, only Suunto App, so the visibility settings come from the Suunto App.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel workouts can only be accessed by the link. If I click on your name it brings me to a summary screen with “no public workouts”

@2b2bff thanks. However, in settings, there’s “Visible with link” as a separate option.

I’m not sure that workouts marked as “Followers” should be accessible with link.

Workout status (if not changed since I checked) are “cumulative”, and workouts can be “shared by link” without being seen by followers and vice versa. I will search and share some more info that I don’t have anymore in head.

Workouts have sharing flag.
Not shared = 0
By link 2^0=1
Everyone 2^1=2
Followers 2^4=16

Example : your share to followers and the you share the link, 16+1=17
You set it to public 16+1+2=19=followers + link activated + everyone.

@Mff73 well that’s fantastic technical detail, but how does it relate to privacy settings?

I find it confusing that what’s set to not be visible publicly can be shared simply via the link.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel wouldn’t you need to share the link? So a none follower wouldn’t be able to see the workout unless you have physical sent them the link?

I read more carefully your initial post, and my answer is effectively a bit off topic .
The link you pasted, did you just copied it from your Web browser url adress when you looked at this activity? Did you check again (after deleting cache and/or cookies for sports-tracker.com) that the status “shared with link” is still not activated?

Because, except bug for sure (not nice in term of privacy) this link should not be accessible for us all, you are right.

What is not nice for sure, is that only web sports-tracker.com is displaying this “visible by link” status, and not in Suunto App itself.
Once you click on “share the link” in SA, this status got activated.
