Timer app

Hi there,
I’m new to Suunto 9 ; I used to have a Fenix 3.
I’m a bit disappointed since I do free diving and I’d like to have a timer with a beep every 30 seconds or minutes ; to be able to fast pause / start / reset / stop the timer…
Apparently this is not possible with the Suunto 9 ?
Best,

@fweens there is an interval feature, but I don’t know if you can reset it
-
yes you can.
check the manualThere is a timer too , but it seems you cannot set a countdown shorter than 1 min, even with custom settings.
-
Thanks for your feedback.
I’ve seen nothing in the manual.
I’ve seen the timer but no beep heard…

Correct, both timer and interval just vibrate
Interval from manual : https://www.suunto.com/en-gb/Support/Product-support/suunto_9/suunto_9/features/interval-training/

@sartoric timer and interval do not only vibrate

From what I’ve seen intervals apply on running ; I do free diving.
Moreover the steps are 5 minutes, I’d like to setup 1 minute intervals…

@fweens Intervals both beep and vibrate, depending on your sound settings. You can create intervals with any sport, which could be open water and maybe even scuba diving, and make them duration-based. For duration, anything above 10 sec is supported in 1-sec intervals up to 1 min. After that I think it’s 5 sec or so.

Yep, you’re right … forgot I disabled all the beeeeps
-
@NickK : thanks… Could you please explain how to do this for, for instance, open water ? I haven’t found anything in the user guide…

@fweens Before you start an activity (when you on a screen with Start on it and sensor status icons), press button down or swipe down to get to activity menu. One of the options there is intervals. Click to enable, which would lead you to intervals customization. Alternatively, you can do that during the activity that has already started: long-press middle button to activate options menu. The rest is the same.
I just checked: intervals can be set anywhere from 10 sec and up. You get a work phase and a separate recovery phase. Not sure it makes much sense for you for free diving, but you can set up 30 sec for each, and get alternating beeps/buzzes.
Also, there’s scuba and free diving activities in the list of supported workout types. Now, I’m sure good people at Suunto will tell you “thou shell not dive with a sports watch.” And they, of course, would be right. That being said, water resistance of 100 m of static pressure is 100 m of static pressure

Thanks @NickK ; this is crazy !
When I look at the swimming pool options, I have:
Pool length
Targets
Backlight
Sensors
Battery mode and so on but no intervalsBest,

@fweens Pool swimming does not support intervals.
That is the only mode that does not as it tries to cleverly define pool lines of course after they are done (pushing on the wall for example “turn”) .
Try another mode.
