AGPS file not loaded to S9PP though SuuntoApp "Optimizing GPS Performance" completes during sync
-
Does anyone have experience with troubleshooting the Assisted GPS file version “n/a” permanently displayed in the Settings - General - About menu? I tried to get information from Suunto Online support, but only received the standard restart or reset to factory recommendations.
Updating to the newest firmware (just released) has had no improvement. GPS lock on training start is over a minute, so I assume the AGPS is truly not loaded.
No difference following a soft-restart of the watch and even switching phones to have a different SuuntoApp, other Suunto watches are able to load a new AGPS from both phones.
I assume the next step is to hard reset, but hoping someone has a trick that I can try before starting over. Is SuuntoLink helpful for S9PP?

@Bradleyd can’t use Suuntolink, unfortunately

I’m totally just spitballing here - throwing out suggestions without any background or evidence - but I was just wondering whether you might be out of memory. I know the memory management ‘retires’ older workouts down to just a summary state if space is needed for a new activity but maybe that doesn’t happen to free up space if the AGPS file has grown in size. That might stop it being downloaded or unpacked.
As I said, totally just throwing ideas out there.

@far-blue - Good idea, I factory reset yesterday and the watch is still displaying “n/a” for the Assisted GPS despite numerous syncs to the most recent android beta version SuuntoApp.

Hm I’ve seen something similar regarding the Vertical on one of the Polish Suunto groups.
I’ll try to get some more info.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel - if you find out any helpful details from the other forum, please add that information to this topic.
On my side, I followed @far-blue suggestion about memory issues and removed all SuuntoPlus apps and disabled all widgets that were restored to the watch after factory reset. The AGPS file was successfully loaded overnight.
Over the next few days, I’ll re-add widgets and S+ individually and see if there is a threshold where the AGPS won’t load or if this was just an anomalous software|hardware error.

@Bradleyd the person I’m referring to decided to replace the watch as it was brand new, straight out of the box. It was updated to the recent firmware, soft and hard reset, SA with the newest version. Still no luck, always N/A in AGPS.
