Unfortunately not much, every time she uses GYM mode (indoor) she gets insane climbing metrics.
Suspecting it was an issue with GYM mode, she tried combined training instead of gym and no weird climbing metrics at all.But, if you watch the gym training session, there is no climbing at all. Could it be an APP issue?

Hello,
I like this watchface and the oxygen readings are really more realistic now: -
I refused to use this feature at all and removed it from my menu as it is just random number generator (after comparison with medical grade oximeter and Apple watch).
After your post I did quick check again and I’m sure they (Suunto) did not touched it.
…also other critical bugs like battery drain or other stupid bugs left untouched.
But we have new watch faces now!
-
@Miloush and we have you posting in every possible thread very useful feedback, what a joy!
-
Namely 3 threads:
- This thread (sorry my Vertical oximeter realy does not work well)
- Swimming: Updates are passed but the bug remains.
- An my own TAG activity based on custom sport mode automatically
Negative feedback is not useful?
-
@Miloush feedback is not the same as “I am a developer, Suunto developers are bad, they should have done this and that, look battery drain, battery drain, battery drain (once per thread)”.
This forum is first and foremost a community, a we ask everyone to behave as they are part of it, and care about it.

@Jordi-C
what happens if you change the GYM activity in the app to something like hiking or trailrunning ? Does some ascent/altitude appear is the summary ? -
I tried the Gymnastics mode (not gym) and didn’t have any issues. Is she washing her hands or taking a shower with that mode on ?
-
Sorry, my bad…
What a wonderful watch faces we have now!
Btw I would never say Suunto developers bad! They deliver great stuff. I’m just bit disappointed in their priorities (which is probably matter of management)
-
@Miloush lol
-
@Jordi-C @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
I am wondering if there could possibly be water or sweat in the barometer sensor. I know that can severely impact the altitude numbers. Might be an area to inspect or blow light air in the sensor port to check.
Just thinking out loud on this
-
@Todd-Danielczyk yeah something like that I would assume. Changing the sport mode in the app (editing the activity) will show the ascent recorded if that is the case as gymnastics can have ascent (debatable).
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos good call!
-
Does anyone know if there is any meaningful battery difference when having the raise to wake feature set as ‘Display Only’ vs ‘Full Wake’?

She swims in the pool with gymnastics mode on, could it be the culprit?
But, I always take a shower (mine is a RACE, not a RACE S) with my watch after each activity and I’ve never detected an ascent issue like that…
-
@Jordi-C well, yes
-
@Jordi-C found it! Water in the barometer sensor.
Water on the sensor will cause wild pressure swings (like water in the ear after swimming).I’m confident this is where the wild altitude numbers are coming from. She can use pool swimming while in the pool, then shake the watch and give it a light breath of air in the sensor if she plans on doing any further exercising outside of the water and wants to measure altitude.
-
But, why combined training doesn’t show also this strange ascent behavior?
She started swiming with this mode on after the gymnastics issue. -
@Jordi-C if she swims, she should use the swimming mode and not the gymnastics mode, because gymnastics does not filter ascent off.
