Developers, please fix the 9PP vibration!

Developers, please fix the 9PP vibration! Make it possible to select the vibration as in the countdown (timer from 10 to 1 second).
-
All my familiar 9PP owners complain about the rattling terrible loud vibration! Please make it possible to select the vibration as on 9 peak (soft, silent, cool). We kindly ask you to fix this.
-
@Евгений-2 If you turn tones off the vibration works for the timer countdown.
-
@Brad_Olwin the vibration in 9PP in the countdown (from 10 to 1 second) is subtle in comparison to all other vibrations. I believe that OP refers to it as a proof that it’s possible to make vibrations in 9PP quieter.
-
@Brad_Olwin hello! You misunderstood. the vibration is very loud and unpleasant (in almost all cases, except for the countdown timer, when there is a vibration from 10 to 1). that is, programmatically, you can make the vibration softer and more pleasant at the software level, for example, with a new update: make it possible to choose for all moments with vibration: 1- or a strong vibration with a rattle, 2 - or a softer vibration. I had a 9 peak watch - and in my opinion there was a perfect vibration. then I switched to the 9 peak pro - and the vibration was very, very disappointing ((( if the vibration situation on the 9 peak pro is not fixed, I will think about switching to another watch.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel hello! Yes, that’s right, you’re right!
-
@Евгений-2 as far as I know, the problem is related only to 9PP, which means it would have to be either addressed for this particular watch, or get fixed in a more general update that would influence all modern Suunto watches (if, for example, all watches were to receive a firmware update that would allow to change the vibration strength or pattern).
Considering that things like button lock, pause screen or cycling screens to the left during the workout took literally years to implement (and were often discussed here), I would be surprised if Suunto decided to fix this issue anytime soon if at all.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel it’s been over 2 years now (and why not fix it with just 9PP? on the countdown of the timer, the vibration is soft, which is needed - so it’s easy to fix programmatically, they just don’t listen to users. and why is there such a long and bad feedback from suunto?(
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel and thank you so much for taking part in the discussion
-
@Евгений-2 I prefer it louder, some others may as well. The 9 Peak was too quiet and easy to miss. Not sure all agree here but I doubt anything will be done about it. I had the coating peeling from my HR module on the 9PP, the new module is noisier than the old one.

Cool. Now let users decide. Just as it’s done with backlight.
It’s a shame that such loud buzzing is a thing with nicely designed and elegant wearable the 9PP is.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel agree. Also Vertical for me for daily not usable. Too loud. Too hard. Shouldn’t it be quiet but subtile noticeable by feel, not by noise?
-
@suuntastic I really don’t get it.
Design an elegant watch series that can be used for sports and in the office, comfortable and elegant to wear 24/7 and at the same time don’t polish it enough to be useful and pleasurable to use in all the environments it was designed to be used.
While I admire Suunto’s approach to design - overall, some aspects of Suunto’s UI/UX are just sloppy.
Things like haptics, usability bugs being transfered from version to version, stubborn approach to certain design features like button lock, backlight, etc.
But the last update gives me hope that perhaps something is changing as the amount of QOL changes introduced in the last firmware is pretty substantial (although not without its own sloppiness).
-
@Brad_Olwin The vibration should be felt on the hand, but the vibration should not be audible to everyone nearby. if you decided to increase the vibration power compared to 9 peak, why did you do it so carelessly?((
-
@Евгений-2 thats why it is called vibration and not tone
-
@suuntastic 100%
-
@Brad_Olwin and another thing: a rattling vibration is not much more felt on the hand than a soft vibration, but there is noise and rattling. why not at least make the soft vibration longer for those who need a more tangible vibration? why didn’t the testers pay attention to this problem? and again, the question is, if there is a problem with this, how to bring it to suunto, where to get an answer from them… I’ve just been looking for a watch that I like for a long time. and if Suunto had replied that this problem could not be solved, I would have continued searching for the watch or switched back to 9P. And I’m sure most users don’t like the 9pp vibration((
-
@Евгений-2 I think it is the hard ware choice used for this watch. The Race S is much better… During testing the vibration was very weak. Making it detectible is the result. The testers did note the rattle and mine was fine until the module was replaced. We (testers) don’t control development.
-
@Brad_Olwin thanks for the reply. and why, knowing about this problem, suunto will not programmatically fix it… They just don’t want to, or is it very difficult to do, what do you think?
-
@Brad_Olwin you’re talking about hardware, but 9pp can vibrate gently. so they can be customized…
