My First Week

Trail runner, normally do about 12hr/80K per week GPS running. In winter I do some road but trying to keep on the trails for my mental health as much as possible.
So far, I have to say - I have zero complaints about my choice. The metrics seem less judgmental, and more actionable. HR seems fine for me (although for activities I use a Verity Sense) and battery life seems to be about 7+ days for me (Raise to wake, no AOD) . Thats been with one 5 hour run following a route, an the others using the map but not a route. TBH as long as its not every day, I’m a happy bunny. Have a 24 hour ultra in the next few months so there will be a good test!
I know some people want more watchfaces or third party but I wonder if the whole CIQ watchface thing is a bad idea for Garmin as any instability I saw with my old watch I could almost certainly point a finger at third party stuff too - so the more tighter control seems to be working well…
Used some of my old routes from Plotaroute I’d set up with TBT for Up Ahead, and they worked a charm with the new device - getting all TBT’s
Personally I find the Contrast Map great when following a route as then all I need the map for is to decide which path is the one I’ve chosen. For general running without a route using the Light one. Wish the map screen had North up as an option, and also wish it had the Custom mode of the Vertical where I could use a map with the other battery modes
Definitely been an ‘adjustment’ coming from Garmin, namely in the UI - but I like the SuuntoPlus concept a lot. The Suunto App seems to be a little bare-bones compared to Connect, but it does everything you need. Perhaps some more report customisations would be nice…
Wish the HR and general resource style graphs were longer than a week, but like the training side. Wasnt sure I’d get on with AMOLED but I got the Race with 15% off from Millets so at the price it was a no brainer. Was originally considering to go to the Vertical if I liked the ecosystem but think I’d be happy to stay with the Race.
WELCOME15 is the code for 15% off from Millets.

Thanks for the heads-up about Millets - good to know. Not sure what would make someone downvote this post?
