Swimmingpool counter current
-
What is the best way to track swimming in a small pool that has a strong countercurrent system? Pool swimming activity won’t work because I’m not doing any laps and open water swimming could maybe work but I’m not doing any GPS distance. I’m swimming ideally in the same spot for for half an hour. Any ideas?

@Patrick-Löffler-0 personally i would use open-water swimming profile and disable GPS. This way, you get time, stroke frequency and heartrate (with the latter already being enough for TSShr).
If you want to know the distance also, you could a) use your stroke frequency together with time and a known average value of distance per stroke, or b) use the time together with the speed of the stream at that point. Since your position is constant, so must be your “velocity” and thus eventually the distance

@wurzlsepp Thank you very much for your answer. That’s helpful.

@Patrick-Löffler-0 oh you’re welcome, but i’m surprised
was afraid it might be too complicatedI thought of a method to determine the stream speed too, by throwing some floating item in there and tracking it with a stop watch … distance will never be very precise in that scenario anyways, unfortunately
