What is the logic for using HR-wrist and HR-belt?
-
When I start i.e. “Indoor Cycling” on my Race I can switch on HR-wrist and HR-belt at the same time, but what will be used in the end?
Wouldn’t it be better to put HR-wrist and HR-belt in one menu and prevent that both could be active at the same time? Just an idea from myside to improve the usability and avoid confusion.
I already found this threat but it is already 6 years old and I’m not sure if it is still valid for the race:

@zucchero
Logic is this one :
You setup which HR technology you expect to be used per sport mode.
Then, according to you settings, HR belt usage is on AND one belt is detected when mode is launched, it is prioritar, and i second “choice” wrist HR (if enabled) is used.In my particular case, for running or trail running modes, I don’t want to use wrist HR, thus disabled so that, if my HR belt is not connected or buggy, I won’t see any value at pre start, and, will react.
For hiking, I am less strict. I mainly use belt as well, but I wouldn’t care too much is WHR is used at the end… Then WHR is enabled.

@Mff73 interessant would be the answer of the folliwing question. What happened if the battery of the HR Belt goes empty when i am on exercice did the watch auromatically use WRIST HR when it is activated? Didnt believe. Tested the folliwing setting–> before starting i have both options activated. When Training i put the HR belt away and switch it Off (Sensor Connection take off from the belt) so the rest from the exercice the last HR value was shown --> 144bpm for the rest from my training. Stop running so the Bpm have to go down if the WRIST sensor would start a measurement. Green lights are Lighting but no values measured.

No, there is no fail over mechanism implemented.

are you sure? that’s a bit strange as a lot of watches (maybe all of them in that league) in case the strap stops transmitting they revert to the oHR
