      Hi there,

      I’ve had my Race for a few weeks and love it! I’ve come from a Garmin Fenix 5X,
      The music controls seem to sometimes work completely fine, other times the on screen controls don’t work but the menu driven by the crown button does and sometimes it’s all greyed out.
      I’ve checked through the posts on here and Reddit and checked through the pointers given, all looks fine. Have restarted phone and watch multiple times but doesn’t fix it. For example, worked fine last night but just now in the gym the controls were greyed out.

      Any ideas?

        @Nick-Gleed what phone? Sounds like BT connection is lost.

          @Nick-Gleed I’d also say it’s the bluetooth connection. I used to have all mobile notifications off in the watch and it resulted constant failures when I tried to use “find my phone” feature. The phone didn’t react when it was 2 meters away! I think it was either the watch or the phone wanting to conserve battery by keeping BT somehow off or in standby. It started working flawlessly again when I enabled the notifications.

          Diving: Finnlight Navy 90, Vyper
          Sports: Metron, S7, S9B and Vertical

                I had that permission enabled but the music controls were grayed out the same. As suggest by another user, stopping and restarting the SA solve the problem for a while.

                  I am having the same issue with my Vertical and Pixel 8. Force closing SA is the only thing that restores functionality. It would be nice if this could be tracked down and fixed.

                  Suunto Vertical Ti Solar, Garmin Enduro, Polar VV2

                    @DrSilverthorn I stumbled on the same problem this week. The song and artist name were displayed correctly but the controls were grayed out. So the bluetooth was working, at least one way.

                    I didn’t have to restart SA, but soft reset of the watch fixed it.

                    So far my Vertical has been affected by three problems:

                    • media controls being disabled
                    • control panel rendering problems when launching from the middle button
                    • wifi connection failure (and thus not loading maps)

                    I ended up downgrading back to the previous sw version.
