7 day step average on app and watch not matching

Today I’ve noticed that the 7 day step average on the app and the watch do not match.
I suspect that some of the steps I made yesterday were not synced to the app. According to the app I’ve the taken about the same amount of steps on Thursday and Saturday, but when looking on the watch the bars are clearly of different height. Also Google fit suggests that I walked about 6400 steps in Saturday and not 3870 as show in the app.Unfortunately trying to sync the watch a few times and even doing a soft reset, does not update the missing steps. The watch only seems to sync today’s steps.
