Suunto Race - satellite settings

@Mff73 and like to keep things simple. It is usually a good thing: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/KISS_principle , but that doesn’t mean that things could not be improved. The custom Mode and the only GPS is not only for Garmin, but Coros or Polar.
The Vertix 2s (MIP display) lasts 118 hours with only GPS (73 hours all systems and 43 all+ dual band). The Vertical does not allow that option. So there’s a very big difference there. You can look further for every watch/brand to note that it seems there’s something missing here, and that others have. And again, we are not comparing battery. Suunto excels at that but that same configuration is missing when in others not, and that’s clearly a disadvantage that It could be fixed for sure -

@Stefano-M64 about that, it has also no sense at all. Both are basically the same watch with a different screen. It is more like something has been forgotten there, like a “bug”
maybe it’s just a commercial choice since Vertical was nearly twice the price of Race, so more customizations are bonus features.

@Stefano-M64 about the custom mode, I have read that all battery modes that are not performance, disables the maps by default. But you can use the custom mode with you preferences and maps enabled. So removing that mode, created an issue for the Race (an issue that the Vertical does not have).
So there’s an important thing here. Considering those 65/90h battery durations, I think that the custom mode should be enabled (as it is in the Vertical) so we can have at least the same workaround for the Race.
@isazi.
If I want to do a long walk or a run I should be able to maximize battery while having navigation. Navigation is specially important when you are working long.Perhaps it should be reported, if possible. To make a fix for the Race here and have both firmwares paired as much as possible. It’s Suunto’s code, with my total ignorance of that code and with both watches with similar software, perhaps we are lucky with things like this one.
I can imagine that perhaps enabling this fix for the custom mode, it’s just a copy of the missing lines. And it’s another thing for the watch, which is always good, of course.
