Which FLOW RESTRICTOR do I need?
-
Hello peepz,
I went from a Suunto ZOOP to a Suunto Vyper NOVO with transmitter.
There is a manual that says to use the AIR FLOW RESTRICTOR TYPE A when putting the transmitter directily on my Scubapro MK17
Also tells that in need the AIR FLOW RESTRICTOR TYPE B when using the hose extention.
I am using the Suunto transmitter on a Scubapro Kit adaptor that came with the MK17. Need to use this extention-adaptor because of the hoses next to it.Here is the question: DO I use TYPE A restrictor or TYPE B here, I am not sure and the manual isn’t clear about this one.
Please only answer is you are absolute certain about it. Maybe Suunto can tell me?
On the photo you can see the setup and the 2 options.Happy Regards from Holland,

@Alfred-Stoppels have you seen this https://www.suunto.com/Products/Dive-Accessories/suunto-flow-restrictor-tank-pod-kit/?
The Suunto Flow Restrictor Tank POD Kit contains one Type A and one Type B flow restrictor. The shorter Flow Restrictor Type A is used when the Suunto Tank POD is installed directly to a first-stage regulator high pressure port.
The longer Flow Restrictor Type B is used when the Suunto Tank POD is connected to a high pressure hose extension, with the hose attached to the first stage regulator high pressure port.
The Suunto Flow Restrictor Tank POD Kit also contains a Suunto Tank POD Quick Guide with installation instructions.

@pavel-samokha thank you.
That i have read in the manual as well but does not answer my situation.
I am not installing directly on the first stage neither on a hose.
My situation is installing on the adapter-kit as shown in the picture.
I appreciate your effort to answer but this didn’t answer my question -
I honestly hoped Suunto would be inhere with the proper answer to keep me safe underwater.
Looks like they are not. Would be better to just ditch the Suunto transmitter and go for another one then?
After all I like to be safe underwater!Figured it wouldn’t be to hard to get a proper answer first-hand from Suunto here but I was wrong I guess

This is basically a community forum, did you try to contact Suunto support ?

@sartoric yes, and no response

@Alfred-Stoppels
Question ,with regulators already having flow restriction built into the HP ports do we really need to fit flow restrictors ? -
Use Type A (as you are not connecting to a hose) and test. If it doesn’t work use B. If it doesn’t work, use B with a HP hose (which I recommend).

@Alfred-Stoppels in your case you should use type B, base on your picture.
However, adapters are not standard, except the thread. Thus these restrictors may not function well. In this case try this one:
