@Desdinova it is not only a problem of the band is slipping, but the design of the body legs

Have a look at this photo:

@Emil-Červeňan is right about this. When the watch touchs with those parts in the wrist bone, they can cut a bit the skin, like it happens for me as you can see in the photo (and the other users reports). This also happens with the Vertical: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/9447/hardware-watch-cutting-my-wrists (I did not have the same issue as that user, but the thing is that those legs can cut in the wrist bone, and perhaps in the other side of the wrist, depending of your wrist)

The nylon band could be a solution, but that solution is unofficial and this is a design problem that should be solved in the next generation or revision of the watches. I’m also thinking that for now, a bit of plasticine or transparent silicone in the cutting edges could be used.

@dreamer_ I have a same problem, somehow I got used to it. But Race is the first Suunto watch that causes this. It is very comfortable, but those sharp edges cause this.

I do not know if it helps since I do not have this problem but see at the photos of my Ocean here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/11397/wildbery-ocean. Maybe wearing small textile braclet (if that is your thing) can help keeping the watch not hitting the bones.

@EzioAuditore I find that a fantastic and very clean solution for the people having this issue. 👍 😊

I have the exact problem with the watch cutting into my wrist. Especially bad with mountain biking.
I 100% agree it’s a design issue (not a “wear it higher” fix).

I run into the same issue after the second ride. There was a 2.5km dirt road section where the rubbing got a bit painful. CX bike on an agricultural service road. Nothing extreme.

The problem is as it is noted above the lugs’ shape. The inner surface of the lugs like a spherical surface. The result is the outer edges (blue arrows) are higher than the inner edges (orange arrows). The red surface should be parallel to the strap pin. Yeah sure they could be closer to the back plate as well.

I am thinking to send it back. I am not brave enough to file the excess material from the lugs. Since it definitely avoids warranty. 😨

Did anyone try bands like in the first picture? Maybe it can help. I give it a try. If it does not work, I will return the watch.
I have 185mm wrists. Those lugs above on my wrist not around it. That is the problem with this design. Maybe on smaller wrists lugs follows better the wrist curvature.
I tried Athletic 7 strap but in my opinion it is weak for the watch. I have nylon straps with velcro from Aliexpress (second picture). I will test them as well. They are thicker and stronger than the Athletic 7.
Third option is a nato strap (third picture). It elevates the watch a bit. Yes, it covers the PPG sensor. It is not a problem for me since I do not use it.
Fourth is the French parachute strap.

@szleslie I have a band that looks identical to your first picture. Via Amazon branded Helmut.

                    I find it excellent.

It is also much better if you use a bike mount. Mine is leather not nylon but they do a nylon version.

I did a bike ride with a 3,7km off road section. NATO strap helped a bit, but lugs rubbing was an issue.
Watch slugs touch my skin. Lugs are lower than the back plane of the watch. Race S was better, since ohr sensor was the lowest point of the back of the watch.

Just wearing the watch. It does not matter if it is snug, it slips down to my wrist. Tighten it more is not an option, it gets uncomfortable.
                      IMG_6113.jpeg

I wear it this tight. My wrist is 185mm. Lugs are over my wrist. I can imagine if someone has 150mm wrist the lugs follow the shape of their wrist.
                      IMG_6118.jpeg

NATO strap has 2 layers under the watch. It is not enough for me.

@szleslie I have same straps as are on your picures. I am wearing it now for a year or so. the textile cover of the legs works perfectly. At least for me.

@zadow Unfortunately I had to return the Race. NATO strap did not helped. I am waiting to Race 2. It seems a bit better design. Till then I will use Garmin Epix Pro that I got as a replacement of Epix (non pro).
