Ruotes created in SuuntoApp
-
@SlaSh if you do reset to factory it will wipe the ephemeral data. Sport modes etc will be kept.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos so I was right that there is no way to restore watch settings, not the sport settings

At the moment its hacky to sync , via the mobile moves count. In the next moves count release it will be stopped.
That’s sad! Movescount route editor and synch via Movescount App or Suuntolink2 does at least work and has import feature and useable topo maps… I don’t see at the moment an adequate substitute from ST / Suunto App side.
-
@WEM_t don’t use the route sync in the app? Where is the problem exactly?
-
@SlaSh what settings are you talking about ?

As I understood your quote, suunto will remove route sync form movescount app. So I have to use SuuntoApp (or cable).
Did I misunderstood you? -
@WEM_t yes you did I think. Sorry for that.
Nothing is removed from movescount.
But if you choose to sync routes with the Suunto app only then the movescount sync will be stopped. With a warning asking the user if that is OK.
That is because having 2 systems to sync a route or settings etc can potentially mess up the watch and make it hard for users to understand the flow.

Thx for clarifying. I did get this actually wrong.

I saw the warning…it was quite prominent and I chose to ignore it, I found out there was a reason for the warning. As soon as the elevation transfer is fixed in iOS (next update I hear) I will switch my routes probably to the app instead of MC.
-
@Brad_Olwin
How do you plan to switch ? Recreate your routes manually or wait for an import option ? -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos hr zones, language, time and date and everything else outside Sport settings.
-
@Brad_Olwin brad the ascent thing for routes is fixed. Not 100% sure at the version you have but definitely in the one to come.
-
@Mff73 good question
-
@SlaSh hr zones , metrics and time and date are stored on the watch. No need for that AFAIK. But I have to test this once. Just to make this clear , we are not talking about removing the watch. Just reset via suuntolink. That does not clear pairing with your account. The stuff you mentioned are in the cloud and restored after the reset.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos by stored on the watch I mean in a separate partition.
That partition survives resets and fw updates. In short after a reset you should have the same as of reinstalling the fw. The hr zones etc are not lost. -
@Mff73 I rarely use the same routes and they are easy to draw. I tend to decide where I want to go a day or two before, draw a route and go. I often go off route because I change my plans…just fun in the mountains.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Are you sure? I do not want to try it, but I remember that with hard reset everything is deleted. Then the start screen appears to set the language, etc.
-
@valdis830 exactly like out of the box
-
@SlaSh you might be right. I’ll test this tomorrow.
-
@SlaSh sorry. I am an ass and you are correct. I am using another way to reset and I though suuntolink force factory did not override the user settings.
By bad , I am.sorry and an ass.
