Problem with external heart rate monitor
-
I finally got the suunto race and went for my first cycling I have paired it with my polar H10 heart rate monitor and for the first 15km the heart rate was spot on but for the next 20km the heart rate was always showing between 119bpm and 121bpm regardless how much effort i was putting does anyone know whats wrong is it the watch or the heart rate monitor, i have the polar H10 for more than a year and never had any issues. Is suunto fully compatible with polar heart rate monitors? Thanks.

Battery?
Or lost connection and the watch showed fake heart rate. I had it with a Polar Verity Sense after a stop, where I left my bicycle to fetch something to drink.

I don’t think it was the battery of the H10 because I have installed a fresh one before pairing

And yes, the H10 is compatible.
I, and many others on here, use it as our HR belt on Race, Vertical S9PP etc etc.
Certainly I would consider the battery in the belt if it hasn’t been changed for more than 6 months.

@savvase I have the H10 and Verity Sense, and haven’t had any problems. Could it be the temp was cold, or that your belt (not sensor) needs to be replaced? They don’t last forever.

@savvase I have noticed whilst testing new sports modes (on SR) that even with wrist HR turned off in the settings it still defaults to on if a HR belt isn’t detected quickly enough.
Before starting the activity you can confirm which is in use by the icon at the top of the ‘start’ screen (heart with wings is HR belt or just heart for wrist HR), I haven’t found a way of confirming which is in use during an activity though…
Maybe it lost connection to your Polar belt & started using wrist instead ?
