Brightness Suunto Race
-
During attaching the watch to the bicycle handlebars is the brightness switched to standby mode. During the map screen into total darkness. This is for me a big problem, because the watch with name RACE they shouldnt save battery like expedition watches. I would like a RACE battery mode where the brightness will really ALWAYS ON !!!

@Petr-Hudeček, I’ve also posted regarding the use of Race and generally AMOLED display watches regarding cycling, see here.
I ended up ordering the Vertical, still waiting to receive it.
On other views other than the map view, is the idle/lower brightness enough on a sunny day?
-
@Petr-Hudeček I think this will be addressed in the next update.
-
My experience when using the watch on the handlebars is that it is constantly adjusting the brightness and this is very annoying.

@Petr-Hudeček post pictures of SR on bars please!

@aeroild yesterday I confirmed that the Race is absolutely unsuitable for the bike… the screen is constantly flickering and the backlight is lousy. the map is missing parts and keeps shutting down. in one case the watch works fine. In the dark, the display shines really brightly, perhaps even unnecessarily. It becomes unreadable during the day.

@Petr-Hudeček said in Brightness Suunto Race:
Are you pressing buttons to change screens? Or it does this by itself? The camera is moving so I’m not sure. If it’s doing it by itself, you should send your watch to service because I believe that is not intended behavior.
Interestingly, when I use my Race on my spin bike, the display stays always on.
