@Matúš I tried it out as well, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me…Soft reset is mandatory to have back the HR monitoring.

I’ve noticed that the HR lockout has been occurring more frequently recently.

Could it be the strap fastening? When it’s hot, I wear it looser, and that’s why I’m having doubts.

In light of this known issue, do you think the manufacturer will release a fix? It would be a real shame if it were abandoned…

I’ve just tried and it seems that the optical sensor switches off at about 15-20mm from the skin, but I doubt that you are wearing the watch so loose, plus I think that the HR sampling is pretty unreliable in this condition.

@Matúš I just thought that perhaps the intermittent contact with the skin could cause the sensor to go haywire, causing the monitoring to block… but I’m not sure that’s a valid hypothesis…

@Matúš My hypothesis is that there are some extra features that do not really work well together.

Test 1: new battery installed because watch could not last for more than two days which is somewhat below specs. Before battery switch the sleep tracking was unstable, after the change it never came back.
Test 2: turned of heart-rate measurement completely since it is no use … Surprise it is still trying to ignite the measurement LEDs ???

Restarted it several times, being more than a week since I received it back.
Multiple trainings done, they worked out OK and battery time seems to have improved since I can use the watch more than two days on a charge now.

However it is entirely unlike the other Spartan Sport WHR I own which can be worn a week and still has 80% of battery power. Both have new battery but remarkably different performance, sleep recording broke something in the 9PP as far as I can deduce.

Same issue here since I bought my Peak Pro watch some month ago. Running on Version 2.50.28, after some days it just stop measuring HR, very annoying, then I need to reboot. Please fix this.

@Tamás-Tompa Don’t you just hate it how you notice it stopping only a day after or so in the morning and you end up missing sleep data 🙂

                9PP since 09-2025.

@jussim It’s been like this for months. I downgraded the firmware to the previous version. The heart rate measurement only stops every two weeks. Suunto doesn’t deal with it. They probably know about the bug. I’d like you to buy a new Suunto with a new bug.

It’s weird how you can try to pre-emptively reboot your watch every once in a while in hopes to prevent this but there’s just no rhyme or reason to it, HR measurement can still stop just like that.

                    9PP since 09-2025.

@jussim Yes, it’s very annoying. Hopefully Suunto will rank up this issue!

@Tamás-Tompa, it wasn’t done in past years, I really doubt that they’ll do something now.
