Welcome to Sports Tracker
-
A new section in the forum about the Sports Tracker app, in case you have not noticed yet.
-
@isazi Sports tracker is only for smartphone?
-
@Wilson75 it also has a web interface:
https://www.sports-tracker.com/ -
My understanding was that when AMER sports was the owner of Suunto, they also were owning Sports Trackers, so the Suunto App was sharing some of the Devs.
Is it still the case ?
I have use sport trackers a few times (to create manual activities with gpx import to have the track in SA), but not so much. -
@Tieutieu as far as I know, Suunto owns Sports Tracker, and there is a team of devs working on the Sports Tracker app (mainly for Apple Watch users). The app and Suunto App share code.
-
Before i had feeling that Suunto discourage users from using sports-tracker. What did changed? Is it now supported way to browse data from suunto app in sports-tracker website? Maybe some way of “cheap” alternative to movescount.
-
@Tomas5 it is its own app, mainly for Apple Watch users. Basically they can have a Suunto App equivalent, without buying a Suunto watch
-
@isazi I used to use Sports tracker with a cheap Mi band and continued using it with my apple watch until I switched to Suunto. Quick question: last year I paid for the sp.tr. pro coach add-on on sports tracker which is exactly what the Suunto coach is in the Suunto app. This is a feature which remains free when owning a Suunto, right?
-
I used to use Sport Tracker before I started using a Suunto watch and switched to the Suunto App. Currently, almost everything in Sport Tracker has to be paid for. I recommended my friend to switch to the Suunto App, even though he doesn’t own a Suunto watch. The account is the same.
-
@Pavlas makes sense. My guess though is that the coach only works with a Suunto watch paired / Apple watch can’t be paired on Suunto app
-
Sports Tracker is what made me come to Suunto with their ads
It was my first sports app on a Nokia with Symbian OS back in 2011 -
@RaDeck Yes, the coaching feature is a (free) part of the Suunto App. So if you own a Suunto watch you will get this automatically in the app without having paying for an add on.
-
@Pavlas they have to make some money somehow, if they don’t the app will close.
-
@tomasbartko Thanks for your confirmation mate!
-
@isazi Yeah, no problemo. But pretty much everything here is paid for. I’m surprised they don’t pay for activity.
-
By the way, as I was about to look for a similar thread, but ended up here. Is user data stored on a server somewhere? Will I have access to them for life? (Can I download this data and save it on my own hard drive?) And another thing: Is Suunto thinking of transferring its application to the PC as well? Route planning is so far much more comfortable on a larger screen and using the keyboard. From what I’ve tried, I could be wrong, Suunto hasn’t made a full tablet version yet, i.e. the phone version works, but you can see that the format is carried over from the phone screen.
-
@Ars-Vitae this is probably not the right place to discuss this, as you are talking about Suunto App and not Sports Tracker.
-
@Pavlas My daughter has an Apple Watch Ultra, I encouraged her to use the SportsTracker app. She has a subscription, which is not expensive and loves the app. I think a great way to encourage folks to use the ecosystem and then buy a Suunto. I now have her at least seeing the value of the Suunto watch. Not sure I can ever drag the AWU off her wrist though.
-
@Ars-Vitae Suunto desktop app is available on Mac
-
@Francesco-Pagano Thanks, I had no idea:)
