What Ttype of Heart Rate Belt
-
Hi, I’m a new user, I’ve bought a Sunto Race about 7 days ago, but I need to use a Heart Rate Belt for running, I can use any type of belt? I’d like to buy a Polar H10 Belt, is it compatible with suunto Race?
Thank you. -
@MassimoX73
Yes, Polar H10 it’s compatible without any issue, easy to pair and works perfect. -
@MassimoX73 It is compatible but only the Suunto HR belt will provide HR memory for syncing back to the watch. If you use it for swimming this is critical. Also, for sports where wearing a watch in inconvenient, you can start an activity with the watch and belt, put the watch on the table or in a locker, do the activity and stop the activity with the watch. All HR data will sync back to the watch. No other brand will have this memory function with a Suunto watch.

@MassimoX73 I have both Suunto Smart and Polar H10, but prefer the Polar.
The Polar strap is a bit better made, and stays in place better because it spaces out little silicon soft dots to stop it from sliding.
Also, the Polar H10 has both an ANT+ channel and 2 Bluetooth. I prefer the ANT+ for my bike computer as drains battery slower, and can pair my Suunto same time to the same belt as well.

@Brad_Olwin Thank you, but I want to know, if I connect a belt to the watch and I start activity on the watch the Heart Rate I see on it read from belt?

@Bogdan1921 tnks!

@mikekoski490 thank you, I want to know: if I connect a belt to my watch and I start a new run activity, the HR I see on the watch display came from the belt??
-
@MassimoX73 Yes, if you pair a HR belt and whenever you put it on and start an activity, you will see a little belt icon next to your HR on the activity start screen (right before starting the activity). If that was the question.

Yes. If Ext HR is paired, priority is on Ext HR, otherwise Race uses HR from the wrist. But mind. If you start activity, you can’t switch between Ext Hr and Wrist HR. The type of HR transmition stays the same during the activity. If You want to f.e. switch from Ext to Wrist, you should finish current and start a new activity.

@ppresing Perfect!! Thank you so much!!

@tomasbartko TNKS!!!

@MassimoX73 Also if it helps, for my priority activities (trail running/running) where I want to always ensure its picking up the HRM belt over the OHR, I turn off OHR for those activities in the sports profile settings.

@mikekoski490 OK TNKS!
-
@MassimoX73 yes from any belt the HR on the watch during an exercise defaults to belt first.
