Battery LIfe
-
@olymay Thanks chap.
Update: I am not sure what’s happening but I had an update come through few days ago. something to do with Google I think.
Since, my Bluetooth is now the lowest battery consumption at 2% and my battery seem to be holding amazing. After a full charge and about three hours in to standby, my battery estimation is at 3 days.
Also, I think I left my Wifi by mistake on auto mode and I am starting to think that it could well be that my Bluetooth disconnecting from the phone is now being supported by the Wifi hence the lower Bluetooth consumption
Very strange

@binoworld-uk I have no idea what would cause that change but it’s GREAT NEWS!!
The update you mention is probably a Google Play update and these are fairly regular. If so I don’t see how it would affect anything to do with Bluetooth.
Maybe the wifi setting could be the answer? I leave my wifi setting on auto all of the time (it only uses it when the watch is on charge I believe), but maybe you could test it by leaving it as is for a few days to make sure all is good, and then turn the wifi off again to see if it reverts back to previous battery life?
Either way, I’m really happy for you

@binoworld-uk i had a similar problem with android, specifically Samung (A40 and A20S).
consumption also reached 19/20% due to bluetooth.
I tried to reset the phone, change it but the problem remained … restarting it seemed to go fine but after 2 days it returned as before.
Now for work I had to change phone (also for this problem) and my choice fell on Realme GT NEO2 - android.
It is now 10 days that it is always connected, monitoring always active and the battery lasts for 2 days (without particular activities), I put in airplane mode only at night, the average consumption of the BT is 2/3% on the whole charge.
Now it comes to my mind that Samsung has some problems with bluetooth connections, can it be so?
In your case, either you have installed some energy-intensive app or some Apple update that has upset the whole thing. -
Just done a battery test on my S7. 100% fully charged down to 5%.
No activities recorded (resting a sore achillies) so was perfect for checking regular battery consumption.
Settings:
AoD OFF
Power saver tilt to wake ON
Continuous HR ON
Sleep tracking ON
Bluetooth always ON
WiFi AUTO
Lots of notifications throughout the day
Cinema mode at night
App updates AUTO
Brightness AUTO
Solstice watch face
No third party apps installed
(If I’ve forgotten anything important please ask)Charged to 100% and removed from charger at 1100 GMT on Saturday 11th December.
Got the warning notification of 5% battery at 1742 on Monday 13th December.
Therefore, 100% to 5% took 54hrs and 42mins.MIGHTY IMPRESSED!!!

@olymay
Very good, similar what I get when I enable airplane and cinema mode at night. -
@olymay that’s a stellar result!!
I think mine could get to that result if I ever let it go down to 5%
I tend to top it up at around 30%
-
@jantikainen I didn’t notice any appreciable difference of turning on Aeroplane mode over night. And it’s one more toggle to turn on and off, so I never bother. Cinema mode puts it into do not disturb and turns the screen off, which is all I really want.
-
@binoworld-uk very similar to me, I tend to pop mine on charge when I shower and shave etc. and this is usually more than enough to keep it topped up. I try to cycle most electronics between 20% and 80%, but occasionally I like to do a full charge and discharge, as it helps the software stay calibrated. I don’t normally pay any attention to how long it takes, but as the watch was taken off the charger at exactly 1100 (was pure coincidence) I thought it would be dead easy to measure the battery life. And I was right
I’m happy to see that the battery life is as good as ever - and if anything is better than it ever has been
-
@olymay I do the same happy 30% to 80% keeps its chemical reaction nice and strong & prolong the longevity of the capacity.
-
I’m sure this has been discussed already in this forum so sorry for a possible double posting/question (at least I didn’t create a new topic )
Has anybody been using S7 for downhill skiing?
What would be the expected battery life, 5-6 hours maybe?
I know I would anyway lock the screen and keep the watch under my sleeve without glancing it. I would assume that GPS has to be set to best. -
@jantikainen I have used the S7 for Ski Touring. If you do not use the map and the screen is mostly on low power mode you should get a full day or 6-8h of activity.

@brad_olwin that’s great, thanks for sharing and have a great New Year!

@Lluís-Gou - you should get longer than that - were you using fused GPS - and or were you using maps?
