@giacomo-laffranchini @Jugger Suunto will do a thorough check of the watch and let you know whether anything is wrong.
-
@brad_olwin That’s fine. It has no effect on my use but for curiosity I would like to know if it’s normal.
-
I just checked my brand new S9P and now know what you mean with the resonance.
It is definitely there when tapping on the lower part of the screen. It is not there on the upper part.
Since my watch is new from the factory, I would tend to think that this is normal and not an issue.
Will check back with Suunto since my watch is some kind of a developer model. -
Thank you all for your feedback! Reading through this, I’m sure the vibration/resonance is normal. I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s not like something is really loose inside. It rather feels like a firmly attached part that is swinging slightly inside. Might be the accelerometer or the thing that creates the vibrations for notifications.
-
@jugger I finally got my watch back from Suunto service. I tend to believe that the “humming” is normal as the watch still does it to a certain degree. Everything works perfectly on the watch.
However, I did notice a difference in the repaired unit. Before sending the watch to service the humming was more pronounced and could be triggered by tapping anywhere on the watch. Instead, the humming on the repaired unit is a lot less intense, shorter, and only cause by tapping on the bottom portion of the screen.
Anyway, I am super happy I got my watch back and that everything works well on the watch. Looking forward to go out for some trail running, hopefully, tomorrow.

Finally bought SUUNTO 9 peak titanium
wow very good feeling.
Really light. You do not notice it on the wrist.
Great look!Referring to vibration: external sound is quite different from S9B.
For me it is louder to hear but good thing also more noticeable vibration. Am I right? Is vibration way more louder and a little bit rattling? S9B you couldn’t hear. -

Thanks. Strange. After a view days I would say that the sound of the vibration alerts does not feel so 100% premium. There is too much rattle noise. Would be interesting if others feel this way or if my watch has some issue and I should return it. Maybe only Titan for min weight?
–> Main point are notification alerts. SW could be a solution to shorten these alerts…
-
@mountainchris My watch also makes sometimes rattling sound when vibrating. I don’t know if it supposed to do that. Never seen any other S9P so I can’t compare. Otherwise all works so I’m happy with it.
-
@jugger same here. I think it’s because the construction of the watch, I guess? ️
-
@jugger Same here. The vibration is quite noisy.
I like it better then the S9B vibration -
The same with my watch. In comparison with S9B, vibration on S9P is audible and a little noisy. I was suprised and worried about it, but based on your responses, it seems it’s normal.
-
@orzechszek yes seems normal, at least for some watches. For me little bit noisy. Not 100% a premium feel.

@mountainchris
for me is also a little annoying. As you said - not a premium feeling , but my S9B is already sold, so I must accept that fact. Fortunately it seems it’s not an issue. -
@mountainchris as If S9B had a premium vibration motor.
To me all eccentric vibration motors feel rather cheap. But linear resonator takes up much more space, so I’m okay with it. -
@dmytro sitting calm and getting many notifications is worst case. All other alerts are ok. I think vibration could be shorter via sw update. Other S9P vibrations aren’t so dominant. Could also be a user adjustment.
-
@mountainchris
this was requested many times for S9B… it was mentioned that vibration is too weak… I don’t know the vibration of S9P, but I have the feeling that the vibration of S7 is pretty solid.
But not all vibration modules are the same. When I take my phone experience as an example I hated the Nokia 7.2 vibration, but I really like the solidness of Pixel 4a 5g vibration. And I can adjust the strength, too. -
@freeheeler exactly, that’s because pixel has linear resonator. Which is btw not the most luxurious type, but good enough. I’d love to see that in future suunto’s. After all, apple has somehow managed to squeeze a good vibration motor in.
-
@freeheeler Vibration of the S9P is very good (in my opinion). Stronger than the S9B.

Second question: When holding the middle button, I can access the shortcuts menu, which then lets me choose e.g. settings. Is there a way to customize the shortcuts I’m seeing there? I’d really wish I could directly access the “Power saving” mode there - without first entering “Setting > General > Power saving”.
No.
any change (if any) since then? I mean shortcuts customization
