Ambit 3 Peak HR import Gpx and difference between homepage and library
-
Hello, I’ve been using the Ambit 3 Peak Hr for a couple of years now and in the many activities i have recorded i had two times where i forgot to pause my watch in the final part and so accidentally recorded a bit of activity while in the car or train. I read around that the activity cannot be modified directly into the Suunto App but it can be done so using Strava for example. I did modify my activity like that and now trying to upload the modified activity into the Suunto App makes it a little confusing. Going on the fourth tab of the app where “map” is located i press on “import route (gpx)” and add the aforementioned track. It then appears on the “library” part which is located in that same “map” tab. However it does not appear in the homepage section which is the one i usually use on default as all my automatically synched tracks come there directly from the watch. So this might be the confusing part for me: i don’t get what the library section is for and how it works, nor how does the homepage section work. Because when i click on my profile (top left photo) and go to map (top right where the three vertical drops are) where i see the map of all my activities together i only see the ones which are on homepage. The the 2 activities i have on my library which i had exported as i had modified them on Strava are not appearing on my full map. So how can i substitute the wrong activity i synched with my watch with the one i just uploaded to my library and to make it then appear along all the others on my map for a nice clear view?
Thank youThomas

You should see Routes and Poi sections under Library and that’s what it’s for, routes and points of interest that you might want to send to your watch for navigation. How it works? Well… for Ambit users it doesn’t, at least for now. But as it’s for routes and not for activities, it shouldn’t bother you too much , in other words - you can’t add new activities by though Import Route in the app.
To add activity to your Suunto App account, load it through one of the following services:
https://quantified-self.io/ (services > Suunto > Upload a FIT …)
https://runalyze.com/ (activity sync > Suunto > Upload a FIT…)
https://www.sports-tracker.com/ (Dashboard > Add Workout)Sports Tracker lets you in with your Suunto App login and password and you can import cropped GPX file, though you might have some issues with some metrics like elevation.
QS and Runalyze will allow you to upload your acivity as a FIT-file, you can get it from those services, directly from Suunto App or though Strava web (Actions > Export Original), feed the file through something like https://www.fitfiletools.com/#/remover#view for cropping and load modified file though QS or Runalyze. It will shortly appear in your Suunto App. -
@margusl thank you so much! It worked through quantified self by uploading a fit file. Yeah unfortunately the only problem was that I had to insert all the new data (altitude, pace etc and some info apparently cannot be added like ascent and descent duration). But at least my map looks good now without the added car driving part.
Again thank you, that was relly helpful!
