So, what are you going to do after Movescount closes?
-
@jgeronimo Try to reconnect your watch using the SuuntoLink. AFAIK, that is the way. I do not know, however, if you can link it to an existing account (I would say yes, but only guessing). As others pointed out, you will surely miss Movescount (I do), but you can do a lot using runalyze or the excellent QS from @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Good luck and keep enjoying such an excellent watch.

@jgeronimo as @Efejota said, you should be able to reconnect your watch to your Movescount account with SuuntoLink. However you will need a Suunto app account which cannot be registered using SuuntoLink (just with the mobile app), see more details here. If you don’t already have a Suunto app account, you could ask a friend with a smartphone to help you out with registration.
Update: as @Дима-Мельниченко mentioned, you can connect Suunto app to Runalyze directly and then moves will be transferred automatically when you sync your watch with Suunto app or SuuntoLink.

well, here we go. loyalty discount burned. new charcoal model on the way.

@andrasveres and others who took the time to answer, thank you.
At the end I surrendered to the corruption of modern gadgets and got a smartphone (fooling myself with the excuse that “I also use it for work”)…
just to discover that I can’t sync to MovesCount those moves recorded after MovesLink was abandoned.
Looking at maps on a smartphone screen, although 6.3", is frustrating and using any software on a computer, with screen, mouse, and keyboard, is way more practical than on a smartphone.

For those that don’t receive it.

@andré-faria
So now Suunto app route planner will work for ambits too? It’s a bit confusing the way it’s written. Did they mean ambit users will be able create route in Suunto app, but will have to sync them using Suunto link anyway? No direct sync of routes to watch using bluetooth for ambit3? -
Is there any possibility to transfer the tags of the moves to another plattform? I will miss them…I used movescount for searching of activity data of past activities still quite often in the last months.
-
What about Suunto apps (https://www.movescount.com/apps#sorting=5)?
We already lost Suunto apps logs (data logging capability) sync when moving from moveslink2 to Suuntolink. Does it mean we won’t even be able to create / use Suunto apps anymore?
Suunto support told me 3 weeks ago Suunto apps implementation was in progress but I really doubt about it -
Sorry guys, I don’t work for suunto, so if you have those doubts contact support.
@Prenj by the email I understood the same way as you do. Regarding ambit 3 don’t know also.
Only time will tell. -
@andré-faria I’m eagerly waiting that SuuntoLink update to see how all those features get implemented.
Nice to see Suunto is progressing in this direction too. -

@André-Faria did you received this notice by email? Wondering why I haven’t received it nor does the Suunto’s Digital Service page mention about it.
Can you post the link underneath the “Learn how” button please?
Update: I’ve got similar notice when I logged in to Movescount.

I’ll try to clarify some questions as far as I understand the situation. I may be wrong or something may change.
- Suunto App route planner will work for Ambits/Traverse via SuuntoLink. You create route/POI in the app and sync it to the watch via SuuntoLink only.
- No Tags support unfortunately
- Public “SuuntoApps” will be available to setup via SuuntoLink. If you have your own private SuuntoApps, you will be able to use them on the watch as long as they are in memory, if you remove them from watch - you won’t be able to setup them again or create a new “SuuntoApp”
- Emails are sent to those who were identified as Ambit users. You may receive yours later.

THanks for clearing.
Also some discussion on this facebook group -

By public you mean everything listed at https://www.movescount.com/apps or just apps by Suunto?
So If I have private apps and change those to public before Movescount closes, I can still use those in sport modes? Or SuuntoApp states are already frozen and any further changes will not be transferred?
And this also means that app editor itself will not be made available? -

Thanks a lot for the information!
I hope it may change and we will still be able to create new app in the future.
Indeed, lots of Suunto apps are not static and need to be edited through variables at the beginning of the app to match expected behavior.
Public ones cannot be edited once they are used by other users and you need to create a new version of the app to edit them. That is why I personally keep my apps private, because they are dynamic and need to be edited every time according to my running session needs/goals.Any news regarding Suunto apps data logging are welcome and possibility to display them into Suunto app would be great.
Keep up the good work Suunto!

Listed

That’s tricky. Disclaimer: I can’t promise anything and may be wrong. AFAIK frozen July 2021, so if you change visibility now you probably won’t see it in the upcoming Suuntolink 4.0 release, but may be after MC is stopped the list of Suuntolink apps will be updated.
And this also means that app editor itself will not be made available?
I assume so.

It’s more of a general question and by “another platform” you don’t mean Suunto App?
If that platform can import tags or you just want to append those to the description field and you can go though data wrangling step yourself and all you are missing are Movescount tags (and perhaps descriptions and all other meta-data) in some machine-readable format (like json) or you just want to create a spreadsheet with descriptions and tags and dates and everything for searching for your past activities, then sure, it’s all in the MoveList - https://www.movescount.com/Move/MoveList
