If your heart really goes to 210, you should know 😊, and healthy or not depends on other factors. If you have no HR belt to check, there is still the old manual pulse ā€œmeasurmentā€ 😁 finger on your inner wrist or carotide, count over 10s and multiply by 6.
But plateau is not really normal, whatever the value.

@iocast so the question if there is a hard limit of 210 in the watch or app has been forwarded to Suunto and reached the developers, will hopefully get an answer for you.

My maximum heart rate after a running test is 208, so 210 is no surprise to me.

@iocast If you look at your training over 6 months or more, especially with a HR belt what is your highest HR reading for a 30 sec time period. My only concern is that this is aberrant HR readings. It is possible but your zone 4/5 is set at 162 so over 200 seems very high for max HR.

@iocast app wise we have a hard limit on the zone 5 (view only) and I think export wise as well. If you have a Suunto app link for me I can get the raw data and see if they were clipped.

That’s a massive ceiling you have there! I only know one person that has a max above me and mine is only 194bpm… however I am 44 so not exactly a spring chicken

When I was in my early to mid 40s my max was in the low 190s. Twenty years later my max now is ~180. However, max HR has more to do with genetics than anything else and it is used to set training zones along with an anaerobic threshold and a aerobic threshold.

I don’t think plateau HR is something normal so there should be a limit or an error:

                      • getting the measurements
                      • threshold in the sensor
                      • threshold in SA

                      Said that, 210??? really? šŸ˜†

205 for me on FTP test, but some years ago I got 200 + (check here, with ambit 2 and suunto hr belt new at the time)
