Movescount --> Suunto App

@brad_olwin well what exactly suunto app is doing in background once you enable sync suunto app <- mc basically you are being connected to sportstracker in mc itself, thats all, so you had always that functionality but not in the suunto app directly:
Log from movescount web:
bradolwin connected to a service
SPORTSTRACKER
Sports Tracker is the original fitness app with millions of active users and over 25 million downloads.18 hours ago

To clarify: this is differnent and still not 100% operational.
The MC -> SA is not MC->ST
MC-> SA will tranfer extra data

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos are you sure? check this out:

How come? The pairing is from the Suunto app not from MC. Why complicated?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos are you 100% that we wont end with duplicated data? and how to disconnect from this service in suunto app? As there is no such option or I am unable to find.
-
@slash atm I dont know.
Also atm this is very early and I have not tested it at all.Data duplication is not an issue afaik.
To be honest this feature afaik now it’s off to be refined so it makes no sense to dig into details yet…

This allows us to import our Movescount data into the Suunto App.
Is the Sports-Tracker account not necessary anymore? Or do we still need it?SuuntoApp and Sports-Tracker share the same database as was told here. But I have different data on my activities, todays ride has no calories or ascent/descent data, while SuuntoApp has it.

in sort the ST has a differnt UI over the same data

I was thinking if it makes any sense to delete the Sports-Tracker account with all its data, then somehow erase all the date in the SuuntoApp and start new with the SA and the Movescount connection…but I guess its not worth the work…

its a good idea because MC->SA has more data than MC->SA
If we would say it like so: The SA model has more data over the ST model in database.
-
But like you said, it will make more sense when the connection is better than at the moment. And the other way round, SA to MC will come too.

@jorgefd78 Do the accounts have to use the same credentials? I don’t have this option either…
-
@fazel no that is not needed and the option is removed ATM. It was a test.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Thank you. What is the best way to get data to Strava? Can we sync to both SA and MC app’s for the time being on iOS? Or, is it better to just use MC? I like the UI of SA better, but really don’t have to have to manually upload files. There’s also RunGap which might allow uploads if using only SA and syncing to Apple Health…
