Hi to everyone.I own the new suunto 9 peak titanium. My previous watch was the suunto 3 ambit peak sapphire. The new one is really a nice watch but the open water has serious issues.
To understand what is going on i use both watches
While i was swimming at open water.
The ambit 3 works perfectly. The 9 peak had a very strange behaviour.
The 9 (i suppose) stops at the time that loses gps signal ( time and distance) and starts when the gps signal is coming backup!!!
So at the end i have
      Suunto ambit 3 …distance 1000 ,pace 2min / 100 meters ,time 20 min
      Suunto 9 peak … distance 600 pace 2 min/ 100 meter s, time 12 min!!!.
      How can i fix this?

          I had the same issue.

Tip: the more you keep the hands in the water the more it takes to find signal the next time.

My tip is that from time to time keep the watch outside the water for a little , till the distance updates if you see that stuck.

Suunto knows about this issue and they are working on improving this.

I opened topic about this on S5 too. Since i swim in lake only few times per year it is not big deal. But it was annoying to wait half a minute with hand out of water. Is there any route map for this fix? Hope before next summer.

@tomas5 as Dimi is saying, Suunto knows about this and are working to improve it. There is not ETA as this moment.

Hello I noticed exactly the same, plus the distance is remaining at zero.

OK, Suunto is on it, so for my next year 2022 holiday at sea it will be fixed … so far so good … 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oopsss you are swimming also in winter ? … well well well enjoy ski, I’m nervous to test my suunto in some ski programs soon 🙂
