Not looking good news for the Suunto 7
Seems like anything with the SD 3100 is getting hung out to dry

Wasnât really expecting it to be honest. I just hope future apps donât require Wear 3.0 specific APIs.
Wear 3.0 is probably an appropriate time for a Suunto 7 gen 2 (I hope there will be one).
-
@aleksander-h I agree.
WearOS needs a full on overhaul and with the promised performance increase of the Exynos chips, if they had supported the 3100 it would have held the OS back.
Apart from Suunto, there arenât any watches using the 3100 well anyway.
And year a second gen S7 to launch early 2022 (or maybe even late 2021 so I can put it on Christmas list!) would be a rough two year release cycle which would be about right for something like this.
-
I love my 7 as it is, so Iâm ok if itâs not updated to 3.x. But it would of course be nice to get a newer os. Just becauseâŠ

Iâm just waiting for the GPay to be availableâŠ

A small glimpse of what YT Music will look like.

@aleksander-h considering that spotify offline will probably be available around the same time as YTM, Google has missed out on a huge, huge selling point and option to obtain new subscribers for YTM.

Not sure I want an update to â2 days maxâ battery life, when I already get 3 days+.
-
@jantikainen GPay got an update in Norway today, and it finally works đ€©

@nigel-taylor-0 Super interested in your settings to get 3 days battery.

I think the significant settings are >
Display>
Adjust Brightness = Auto (to lowest setting)
Sunlight Boost = Off
Always-on screen = Off
Screen timeout = 5secsGestures>
Tilt-to-wake = Off
Power-save tilt = On
Touch-to-wake = Off
For navigation > Wrist Gestures = OffConnectivity>
WiFi = Off
(when at home, I tend to leave my phone in my office, and Bluetooth doesnât reach from that location to kitchen, bed, and a few other places I spend a lot of time - and Iâm not that bothered about receiving the notifications as Iâll get them when I go back close to the phone or sitting in the living room below it, so donât care about connecting to my WiFi).I have Heart Rate, Daily Resources and Sleep tracking all ON.
Any of the Suunto Watch faces.
Tiles are Today, Heart Rate, Resources, Sleep, Overview, Weather.No Google Fit. No auto-updates.
This gets me a solid 2+ days before I consider recharging - and would easily cover the full 3rd dayâŠexceptâŠwhenever I go running (3 or 4 days out of 7) - I tend to top up before I go (I like to do an activity starting from 100% for no particular reason!), and then a quick re-charge after I finish.
I also usually toggle AirPlane if going for a run, even if I have my phone with me or not.
My phone (Samsung) is also on some kind of schedule via the Battery Guardian app in Good Guardians, so it goes low-power overnightâŠI donât know if this impacts things and the Bluetooth connection stops and the Watch doesnât bother wasting power after a while, as I seem to drain very little battery overnight from say 11pm until 8amâŠmaybe 7% or soâŠ(so around 1%ish per hour or less, compared to roughly 1.5 to 2% per hour normally)âŠif Iâm doing a morning run, I know if Iâm fully charged the night before, I can wake to the vibrating alarm, and can recharge back to 100% in less than 10 mins or so.

Got the new play store and pay during the night in Denmark. Excited to see if it works later today.
-
@harboe Just tested in my local store and it worked. An odd thing I donât know if itâs just because itâs the first time is that I had to do it twice and on the second try it prompted for my pin.

I think thatâs perfectly normal for Google Pay, itâs a security thing. Next time should be a simple tap and go

@aleksander-h Hello everyone, from today it is possible to pay by watch via Wear OS in the Czech Republic as well! One question, please: at the time of payment, the watch must be connected to the phone via Wear OS (Bluetooth? Thanks.

No, you do not need to have the watch connected to the phone at the time of payment
-
@sindre-svellingen Yes finally!
-
@olymay I believe there is a limit to how many payments you can make before you must re-establish a connection to the phone.

Yes, I think you are right (also the first payment must be connected to phone too) but I donât know what the limit is as I have never done more than one transaction without my phone.
