Body Resources general whackiness
-
The drop in resources is still there and annoying. Would be great to know when this can be fixed.
-
@patrick-löffler well this is evidence that 10 minutes of stretching is much exhausting than 2 hours of MTB bike. (Just joking)

Anyone here that has resource at 0% at the middle of the day without doing no activity (registering)?
I already shared that with @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yesterday (one of the days that it happened, but it happened more times). -
@andré-faria 0% at evening, than had around 38% at this morning, and after 4h of programming (sitting at computer) and light 5 minuts walk for lunch i have 8% resources.

This morning after 15 min Yoga.

Your HRV might be trop important,
I know the algorithm from Firstbeat is based on HRV, if your HRV cannot back to before quickly, it will show you sent all your resources. -

Can HRV be measured precisely with wrist heart rate sensor?

Measured by wrist heart rate sensor yes
Precisely no…I mean the body resources could work for 80% population…
I remember I did a recovery test, and I can only get 8% …
Quote from firstbeat
To make this complex relationship visible and accessible, the Firstbeat Analytics engine identifies and interprets meaningful patterns in how your heart beats from one moment to the next, a phenomenon known as heart rate variability (HRV)

@zhang965 so it will never work correctly on S5?
For example now I am watching TV for around 2-3hours but by watch i am stressed and resources are still on 0%.

it works correctly for almost population, but you (and me) maybe your HRV is not in the 80% case of all
-
@zhang965 i will test light excercise with hr belt if there will be some difference, but i think i had same result in past with WHR and HR belt in terms of resources consuption.
-
Same thing here, hardly ever exceeded 75% of resources and the drop after sitting at my laptop is immense. 7PM I am at zero resources.
-
Its interesting as Garmin Fenix uses the same sleep tracking and body resources (both first beat) as per the Suunto 7. So you get the same score, though may be slighly more refined on the F6 as respiration, pulse ox also factor into it.
The big difference is in how the sleep score is reflected in the recharge of the body resources/body battery. Garmin uses it own calc for the providing the recharge value, rather than the first beat one, and it is far more generous and much better reflects what I generally feel. With the S7 my resource as always gone by 8pm at .latest, with the F6 I am usually between 20-40% by 12am
The other difference is recharging during the day - never really saw it with the S7, however with the F6 if your HRV is good, then you do get some recharging - generally always get it when you nap, and if sitting still watching TV etc, often see some recharge due to that.It will be interesting to see if first beat now potentially leverages Garmin’s resoures and knowledge and improves its recharging side of the body resources.

For me it depends on nutrition, I get good resources when I eat large amount of fruits before sleep, where vegetables really dont make any difference for me at least. I try to repeat and I have been logging all my food via fitnesspal connected to TP for over 5 years now minus my trips outside country. Best results (lowest HR) is basically when I have carbs as 80% of intake (not junk food though), stay well hydrated, and sleep at 16C.

Any chance body resources will be fixed with the next firmware update?
-
@helgonet12 I haven’t read anything about it yet
-
@lexterm77 wow, on my S9P I never saw resources above 70% and vast majority of days I am at 0% before 1:00 PM.
In my case I guess it has more to do with the fact that all myHR daily reading somehow appears to be wrong; looking at my daily HR one would think I am working out 24/7 non stop.
Interestingly , I gain resources if I start an activity ( generic indoor) on the watch.
Hopefully things will improve -
Does your morning HR after you wake up and sit 10min motionless before breakfast or coffee match the resting hr on your watch?
-
@lexterm77 that is a valid point, thank you. In the past it was; i then saw a suggestion in a forum indicating to use the avarage HR during sleep as resting HR. Since then I have been using the latter. I can certainly try to change it back and check if the change produces any difference in terms of resources etc.
Nevertheless, my watch recording (outside an activity )are still highly inflated. I suspect this may also paly a role on resources.
Thank you for your suggestion!

@andré-faria about every 2nd day the resources are below 20% at lunchtime when I am in office. This resources feature does not work at all and is more or less useless (not even an approximate guessing) Today it dropped from 80% to 30% in 3h. It usually drops way faster when sitting or standing around than during an activity (with average hr >130bpm)
