Suunto 9 Peak Ti glass not perfectly set inside the watch case
-
@brad_olwin me too
-
Not. mine seems ok
-
@brad_olwin Mine as well.

Good eye! Interestingly I didn’t notice this on my watch till I read this post. On my watch the bottom sapphire is raised slightly. (Probably a couple pieces of paper width above the bezel)
I’m not hugely bothered but I’d hate to have an issue when I eventually hit it against something. I’m not sure….maybe I’ll reach out to support next week. It could very well be within spec but worth asking.

Well you can clearly see the crystal isn’t flush and it also doesn’t appear to be centered properly due to the gap at one end. This is something I’d maybe expect to see on a COROS or Wahoo watch, but definitely not a Suunto. Now you’re aware of it it’ll probably bug you every time you look at it! I’d be taking it back to switch it out for another if I were you

@miniforklift I experienced the same issue on three different units of the same model.
-
@deserthike20 did you bought it on Amazon?

The same, didn’t notice till this post and had to look very very closely to see it.
This doesn’t bother me at all. But if you have answer from support let me know.
-
@becco981 I bought mine directly from Suunto during the pre-order period.
-
@andré-faria If I decide to ask support I will let you know.

Maybe, also my unit is not perfectly aligned but not as this one in photo. Mine is impossible to see with naked eyes and only notice if i use a fingernail, however i think it’s not as much than 1/20mm so i think perfectly in manufacture tolerance.
-
@becco981 @deserthike20 Did support say anything to this? I think normal. Not noticeable without touching in reality from normal distance. Watch of my girlfriend has it and mine too. Think small package leads to this. Or it is designed this way, because watch shouldn’t contact bezel completely. No big thing for me. But if you have an answer, great.
-
No issue on mine. But it is all black not titanium version.
-
@mountainchris I never got in touch with support. The watch has some sentimental value so I didn’t want to exchange it.
At this point I don’t even notice it anymore and haven’t had any issues.

@becco981 just wondering if you maybe got any feedback from support? Thank you!

@krakra
I understand that @deserthike20 accepted this flaw.
I trust that functionality is ensured and it is just an optical issue. Similar to the Pixel 5 glass and fram gap issue when it was first released. I am nitpicky in such cases and would want it to be perfectly assembled.it seems nobody here has ever asked Suunto support for a statement. Try to reach out to them, they are very kind and helpful
