@daybad wow, that´s a bit harsh isn´t it? Do you know the failure rate of the S9 peak so you can say that Sunnto is making shit?

Watch was not the quality we were told it was. Very sad as I’m an avid suunto ambit user. seems they making shit now and don’t care.
We don’t really appreciate insults in the forum, just to let you know.

@richard-thygesen first had experience showed me the quality was poor. I would not rely on it on a mountain its unreliable. you go use it but don’t complain when it fails
-
@isazi is telling the truth an insult. I used to love suunto until this experience. wait until they let you down and see how u feel.
-
@daybad go compare it to the original ambit we all loved. you can feel the quality difference between the two. the buttons are firmer. the product feels more sturdy on the original. the strap was a thing of quality not the thin strap they have on the 9 peak… one fail guys is too many we rely on this up the mountains we can’t have it fail.

I think you are misleading people here, I understand that you are frustrated because you just bought the watch and failed but your little experience doesn’t make it general. I’m quite sure that the testers, that at least are as good as you in the mountains, would have report issues if they were general and Suunto would not have released the watch/watch firmware
You talk a lot of the ambit and its strap, but in my experience the latter ones are better than the ambits ones that aren’t made from silicone, all the people that I know that have or had and ambit are using/used tape or some elastic rubber band to keep the strap in place.
BTW you say that we all love the ambits, but I don’t, my experience with it was not as good as the one that I had with the SSU and the one that I have now with the S9B.
If you have had the patience to read the forum or wait for somebody to answer probably you would be enjoying your new S9P right now. For your information, I also own a Garmin device and this weekend it has restarted itself in the middle of the activity, this has never happened to me with the S9B.

@cosmecosta
guys every electronic device may have issues: my Garmin 645 (which I tend to enjoy) today restarted my activity in the middle of my run , splitting one Activity into two.
Ok… it is not the end of the world. 3 years back my A3P lost my open water swimming while saving the HR from the strap . Its ok… -
@daybad really ? The original ambit had tons of quality issues including plastic and especially the strap.

I had to send my Ambits back twice for buttons sticking…never had that issue with an S9baro or any other issues.
