Who received the Google play store wear os 3 style update on suunto 7 ?
Would you look at that! They stole a picture of my wrist
-
@aleksander-h - you could probably get copyright payment on that, considering its a site that I think generates money…

I posted some screenshots to Reddit on Saturday and they’re now being used on the following sites,
I was quite surprised when I came across my screenshots and wrist while browsing Google News this morning. Don’t really mind all that much, although I’ve only now realized just how hairy my arm is
-
@aleksander-h may I have your autograph that I can resell once you become famous?

Even better, I’ll cut off some of the arm hair from the picture and send it to you.

I don’t have the refreshed Play Store yet, but interestingly I have noticed that the ‘old’ Play Store has started being a LOT more responsive over the last couple of days.
Historically, EVERY time I have clicked on Play Store, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds, and EVERY time I click on “My Apps”, there’s a delay of a few seconds before it comes back with any required updates.
This now all seems instantaneous behaviour, pretty much coinciding with when this new Play Store was first mentioned. Same for anyone else?!

The new one is also quite snappy. Takes about 1 - 2 seconds to load when I first start the app, but after that everything is fast and lag free.
-
@nigel-taylor-0 the Play Store has been super speedy and snappy for me ever since the HMR2 update last year (before that it was very slow and clunky!).
I don’t have the new version yet but have no speed issues with the current one.

@olymay I honestly don’t remember what the app store was like before I got the new UI. I didn’t really use it much as there isn’t much to install. It was by coincidence that I noticed a notification about it updating. I probably wouldn’t have noticed the refreshed UI otherwise.
-
@aleksander-h same, I barely use it as I have apps set to auto update and no third party apps installed.
In fact, I think I only check it when there is talk of updated components to WearOS or apps (such as this refreshed UI).
I do remember there being talk of improved performance around the time of HMR2, so I made a point of comparing before and after and it was night and day, the improvement was outstanding!
As long as it doesn’t slow down I am more than happy with how it currently performs.
I just want the new interface because I like new shiny things

I know the feeling .

Hmm. That’s weird. Suddenly I’m back on the old play store interface again .
-
@aleksander-h yeah, I have the same

As far as I am still waiting for the new interface.
Unless I got it and the regressed without noticing. Which is actually possible, as I hardly open the play store on my watch. And now we can install apps to the watch from the phone (finally!!!) there is even less reason to open the play store on the watch.

Maybe Google were simply testing the reception of Wear 3.0 interface changes.
