I love the new strap design of the S9 Peak, but I do have one concern about the new design.

I noticed that the buckle-pin slightly ends up in an upright position if you fasten the loose end. Which causes a little space between the buckle and the strap. This is prone to catch onto something and maybe in the most unfortunate situation causes the buckle to break.

If I don’t fix the loose end the buckle is pressed firmly to the strap by the buckle-pin and the whole surface is much smoother.

Is this something other users also have?
@Suunto_testers, will the wear over longer time cause the pin-hole to widen a bit so this issue will solve itself after longer use?

Aren’t you one hole too far for the pin?
        Mine hasn’t this.

@mff73 I agree, back one hole and it will be better I think.

@mff73 It does work if I loosen it one hole. This however creates space between the loose end and the strap

@surfboomerang I had such strap for another watch and it indeed came loose every time strap sticked to clothing.

I noticed that if I tighten the watch 2 more holes, the pin on the loose end part lines up better with the strap and I don’t encounter this problem. However, the watch is then too tight for comfort.

Normal use, I use the 7th hole (not including the loose end pin hole). During training, I tighten it one more hole for good OHR readings. Both those settings don’t line up the loose end pin 100% with the strap so there is minor tension on the loose end or a little space between the strap and the loose end depending on what hole I fix the loose end pin.

@surfboomerang Been wearing one of these since December and no breaks. I have had the pin holding one strap to the other pop off in the car. Luckily I found it.
