Smart sensor

@frédéric-fiandino it is but Polars/Suuntos tech for memory doe not lets us transfer to from one to another. Only for memeroy
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos with PolarH10/Spartan we have only live data ?
-
@garyhenwoodfox AFIK only one update to the sensor was enabled. I personally have had very little trouble with the Smart Sensor and I especially like leaving the watch in the gym for gym workouts, the sensor records all HR and syncs when I get back to my locker.
-
@suzzlo They are not expensive on Amazon (US).

No it isn’t compatible, unfortunately. The suunto smart sensor doesn’t last very long…What do you mean? I am using the one purchased with an A3P…mine has lasted 1617h, 5591 miles, 1,052,063 ft Ascent, starting 9/5/2014. I would say it lasts a long time. The belts I change every 9 months or so.

Yes

Yes and the reason why is because both companies play stupid with just following one protocol.

Pretty sure the Smart Sensor will continue to be developed if this is any indication: https://www.movesense.com/
@Brad_Olwin is right about the belts though, they fail pretty much in 6-9 months. This seems like something Suunto should address or that one of the Movesense partners could cash in on…

All , The question here is that we have a product the “Smart sensor module”, that is currently supported by MC to update if required. If MC is being phased out - and we have no definitive answer, how will the Smart señor be supported in the future ? I have see some articles lately saying the smart sensor was the smallest and technology advanced and being developed further.
Unfortunately we have not been told what the constraints are for the is new app. Eg what products eg watches , blue tooth, communication - (phone- app- web site) the new app should support. Us as a forum can then report back confirming functionality. There is no point asking for various statistics to be shown if the app cannot support a certain product leading to confusion and customer dissatisfaction or sattissfaction . Sorry :-morning rant.

@garyhenwoodfox dont worry about updates for sensor, if MC will pass away and it won’t happen tomorrow suunto will provide other way for updates, just calm down and go for workout
-
Guys stop worrying about how to update the sensor. It has not been updated in years now and if is needed as said before it will be available for you to do so.
-
Thank you all guys, I’ll buy one in Amazon, and update with MC app

@fleshymutant @Brad_Olwin My problems with the Suunto belts were history once i started to clean them as described here.
Basically, after each excercise you put the belt in a sink, fill the sink with warm water while washing your hands and let the belt soak for a while. Rinse it off and let it dry.
Cleaning the belt in the washing machine worns it out. Killed one in roughly six month doing this…

This is absolutely true.
I leave it overnight in a small bucket with 2 drops of dish washing detergent and just leave it to dry when I wake up.
Washing in the washing machine has mixed results due to stronger detergent and potential use of softener. -
Somehow I am happy to hear this article has contributed finally.

Washing in the washing machine has mixed results due to stronger detergent and potential use of softener.I agree cleaning them works but…i noticed that the new belt had a much stronger snap connection to the sensor. I think that removing and snapping the sensor in many times can loosen the snap connectors. No matter how I washed mine it wasn’t working well. The new belt is flawless so I think the belts do wear out as well. I put a lot of hours on mine.
-
@brad_olwin are we supposed to remove the connector after each move?
Does it use energy when connected? -

Does it use energy when connected? From my observation it can but not always. For that I always remove it when I remember todo so

I’m confused. New belt? Is there any new Suunto Smart Sensor?
-
@yannis-belouris I remove it to wash the belt. But I have heard it can use some energy when connected.
