GPS problem with latest update in Fused Track mode
-
@egika No, nothing special from the magnetic point of view. But that was after a long time (about 20 minutes) of pushing my bike (on foot) up a long steep climb.
-
@tonyg42
Was your watch near some magnet or electronic device while you were pushing ?We’ve seen issues long time ago with gloves with magnetic fasteners
-
@sartoric No, no electronic device nor magnet was near my watch. Only thing is that my arm was horizontal during a long time perhaps ? My phone is always in my backpack.
-
@tonyg42 Unless you are out for more than 25h there is really no reason to use FusedTrack. Furthermore, FusedTrack is not designed for biking as the sensors work much better when your arms are moving. FusedTrack is primarily for running and hiking. I have engaged FusedTrack for SkiMo, it is fine on the uphills but as expected poor on the downhills.

@brad_olwin
Excuse me but for my opinion Fusedtrack for hiking is very poor,inusable to follow a track -
@brad_olwin sorry but I need sometimes 10 hours for biking and without FusedTrack, it is difficult. FusedTrack is foreseen for biking and running in Suunto presentation. And until now, it was ok.
-
@tonyg42 Sorry, thought you were using a Suunto 9. I am wrong and you are correct. It should work better for biking. I use FusedTrack on the 7 often.
-
@giulio would you like me to post? I have many good tracks while moving slowly and good ones for uphill SkiMo
-
-
@brad_olwin I checked my old biking GPX and I never had this problem before. I hope it will not reproduce too often. Let’s see during next trip.
-
FusedTrack should work with biking on the s7. I have seen that pattern again and its usually due to some compass not being calibrated or some heavy metal at the bike mount
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Thank you. How to calibrate compass please ?
-
@tonyg42 do the figure 8 gesture .
