@aeroild i’ll give it a shot

Also, it doesn’t connect to my wifi hotpsot on 5g band only 2.4g band.
I don’t think the S7 has support for wifi at 5 GHz, or at least that is not in the FCC certification (it only reports test results for 2.4 GHz).

I’d like to see the ability for larger offline maps. If I take the train to go for a hike somewhere, I could quite quickly leave the area for offline maps. If it could be expanded to around 200 km I would almost never have to change the area to download.
-
@aleksander-h There are likely reasons for this. You can have one offloaded map with all heat maps. In addition, any route you have loaded will load the corresponding outdoor map. So if you load routes for the area you want, you should have all the outdoor maps loaded.
-
@brad_olwin I only just realized the file sizes will probably go up really quick. If they increase from 40 km (I think that’s the current limit) to 80 km for instance I believe that would result in 4 times as much storage being consumed by maps.

I would like weight training addon like in the new Venu 2. This is a big feature.
It would be cool if I can pick a workout within the phone app and have the watch count reps. Track my progress over time.
Right now I use a Google Doc on my phone so this would eliminate that.
Specific features:- pick a workout / WOD (i don’t even need the lifting animations or what muscle it targets like on the Venu 2). For something like yoga I would like animations.
- count the reps, sets, skip to next exercise
- watch weight editor for each set- i do pyramids sets for main lifts typically. The watch screen is big enough to show a big calculator type thing for weight input
- customize a workout with letting me drag and drop on the phone
- Workout log / progress
- HIIT timers
- set timer
Sidenote: customized workout should also be for cardio based workouts like brick for Triathletes or even crossfitters. I think it’s crazy that bricks aren’t a thing yet especially since the watch is outdoor focused.

@eurohiker There are apps that do this, Fitify is one but there are several so I think Suunto sees this as already implemented.
-
@eurohiker this feature (sets/reps counting, etc.) was in the latest survey from Suunto. I think if the majority of users want it, it will come.
-
@brad_olwin Awesome thanks, I will check it out. Play store kinda sucks for finding new apps haha.
@isazi It’s good to hear that Suunto is at least thinking about it!
Happy with the continued update support!
-
@eurohiker Do the survey

@eurohiker Do the survey
That survey doesn’t allow one to select the Suunto 7 as far as I can tell.
-
@aleksander-h saw to, so just selected other
-
@harboe @Aleksander-H haha i thought I was drunk looking at that list. I scanned the Suunto section like 10 times. I just put “other” as well.
@Bulkan thanks for the survey
Really liked the “SuuntoPlus” questions. Seems like they know what to update. I wonder how long they will support the Suunto 7 with updates.

@eurohiker
For S7 look at Jefit, Gymrun (there is another one but can’t remember what it was, but wasn’t as good as gymrun and jefit) which both have wear os component.
Alternatively if you are prepared to sideload and app you can install an app wrapper from Malcom’s site which will allow you to activate the hidden strength training app in google activity which can auto detect exercises and autodetect reps. Less features than Jefit & Gymrun but the autodetection is pretty good (still amazed google has hidden this and hasn’t made it available):
http://freepoc.org/downloads/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Malcolm+Bryant
(app isn’t in the playstore but is safe to install - loads of people including me have this app, and or other sideloading apps especially Wear Text he has created). -
@jamie-bg thanks a lot man! I wonder how many cool apps i’m missing out on for WearOS. When I search on google best wearOS apps the same 20 show up and those 20 are like the only apps I see on the play store in my watch.
You would think people like this Malcom guy would be posting it on XDA but there’s like nothing on there but Spotify Lite (offline music) and an Alti/Baro app.
Anyways, sorry for sidetracking the thread guys haha -
@eurohiker - worth joining the wear os reddit. Guys like Malcom are pretty active on it.
Wear os reddit also has a sticky of suggest apps.Also don’t forget the sticky threads here in the suunto forum, and there is also a thread for suggested apps.
All good starting points, and if looking for something feel free to post and or PM me.

Bummer even on the new watch face they are still using the leading zero in 12 hour format which is incorrect. it should simply be 8:43 pm for example. All the countries that use 24 hour time don’t seem to understand it does nothing on 12 hour but be a useless placeholder.

They are aware. They just watched 8 seasons of Jack Bauer adventures and assume it’s how Americans roll.
-
@fenr1r Haha nice. I mean watches, clocks, microwaves and literally anything you can put time on in the USA has no zero. I don’t actually think they get it yet or it would be fixed. I even made a thread with pictures of a heatmap type watchface with pictures and I heard crickets lol.
-
@jeremiah-dudek - a lot in Europe do, as often get an option for 24hr or am/pm, that way always built in with leading zero, as used if 24hr.
Plenty of other options out there that offer to include/exclude leading zero.Personally would love to see the suunto watch faces updated with these additional cusotmization options, like that, and the ability to change hand colours etc.
