[iOS] 1.0.1 (6183) Movescount - Suunto Routes restriction
-
About using buld 8163, doesn’t use routes but still with problems to sync via movescount, check that suunto app is not in background
I have tested now and both apps works correctly, but closing SA before open MC
-
@slash @aldnet @jthomi I have reverted back to the last SA build and will continue to use that until this sorts itself out. I ended up having to reset the watch twice and could not get (6183) to work properly with either MC app or the cable. Part of my problem may have been routes from both SA and MC in my watch. Lots of time wasted, which I don’t want to do again. I did sign up for a beta so I am not angry but there are more issues here than just the routes. In addition, route sync does not work properly from SA as no elevation profile information is transferred to the watch. I wish that some of the outstanding bugs in the SA app could be fixed before new features are implemented.
-
@luís-pinto Ambit3 & Traverse will be supported soon
-
@jouko-from-suunto Good news because many users have that watches and can integrate this forum.
I fear however, resources that people are accustomed in Movs app will not be implemented in SA, such personalization of watch and workout planner.

@shrek3k
“fortunately” the Android change log is much shorter"the Build release note is usually huge, but there is 500 char limit in Google Play so stripped to minimal. Have to be careful when checking what has to be there and what can be left out

Un fortunately, the Android change log is short
It is quite sad to read : bug fixes and improvements, …, nothing else.
Some of us are beta testers, and others “simple” users.
And tracking bugs, not even knowing what is known to be fixed, is very difficult.We have discussed somewhere about a part of the forum for beta test discussions, like a “closed” group.
Isn’t it the time for re thinking of it. -
@mff73 I’ve few times added some extra bits of info into a comment to the official release note, but there could (/should?) be more info. Just can’t put the automatically created release note from continuous integration there since the pull request are not always too well described and can also have company confidential information. One more thing we do not really have resources. Have to see if I can improve it a bit. I’d love to give more details in the Google Play note, but 500 chars D’oh.
Naturally iOS note is stripped too, but not that badly since there is no char limitation.

if google play store is restricted to 500 chars you could add at least more information in this forum as there is a short announcement with the same changelog information as in play store -> this could be extended, so at least the “more interested users” have more information about possible fixed bugs, and so on…
-
@jouko-from-suunto forum is unlimited with chars
-
@jouko-from-suunto
Thanks ! And as @SlaSh said, forum is unlimited chars, and forumers are unlimited motivation (but with a bit of tools an d informations )
Do your best there, we will do the rest here
-
It would help us a lot, to have the full list of bugs fixed in the changelog (even if it’s like comments in the “Announcements & Updates” thread).
-
@jouko-from-suunto thanks, I completely undersrand these limitations - but additionaly there always is a post in this forum, where the changes are listed, too. Could this post be used to have a (more) complete list?
kept the post for too long in drafts …
-
@shrek3k yes they could just add one sentence in the playstore and iOS testflight:
LOOK AT THE FORUM RELEASE NOTES

Hi!
I need your help.
The people that came across the IOS restriction:
- If you reset the watch, does it sync with MC before you connect it to the Suunto app?
- If you connect it to the Suunto app and you do not have any routes does it stop syncing to MC anymore ?
Is this correct what I read?

Yes

In my case no, it works.

In my case, I updated with incorrect firmware, (SSWHR, I have SSWHRBaro), had to return to previous firmware, reinstalled “new”, correct firmware, and so far, I can connect, and sync with both Movescount, and SA. My routes are still in SA (I only have two), but have not used them, I’m not a big route person.

- When I reset the watch it does sync properly with MC.
- First try, stopped syncing with MC even without routes. Will try again today.
- It is working now. No routes on SA. I think a problem for me was routes from both on the watch. I had to clear all routes from the watch, delete all routes from SA and then I seem to be able to sync from both now.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos after watch reset MC works fine, even suunto app with Mc in parallel and cable.
Just need to make sure that you don’t have routes on suunto app. -

@jouko-from-suunto
thank you.
I see your Android Changelog++, and it is a lot more detailed that previous google shortened ones
Whith such changelogs, we are able to dig directly into the right direction to validate bug corrections, and even find new bugs in the app where we don’t think to search.
