2021 April System Update
-
One of the biggest request in the s7 launch threat was the integration with Suunto app. With the update looks like we will have it that’s why for me is a huge improvement of the user experience. I won’t use google integration and I’m happy with that.
Will the owner of two Suunto watches sync the data in Suunto app? Apparently and it is great. Now we have
POI, maps, great screen and integration in Suunto app. Good!I miss things like these:
- an API for the weight and sync/track with services. (as @olymay says)
- Sync backwards the calendar view in all my watches. ( I like to track my hours and see it in my watch, specially in the amazing view of the s7 card).
- Intervals.
- calibrate altitude in wearOS.
- stryd connection. (is the biggest issue for me to use the s7 the 80% of the time but not for the majority of the users)
But the s7 is getting rounded and I love it.
About the weight @pavel-samokha maybe could help to ask for it.

@aleksander-h
I load it once a week as part of my diet tracking into myfitnesspal (only phone at moment), which feeds it into google fit (google fit on watch is always updated for it).
Unfortunately suunto app doesn’t seem to take that feed - you have to manually adjust on the watch - which is a bit of pity, really should just take the feed. Hence part of my reason why I would like to see this added to the suunto app so it can do it automatically. -

Now we have POI
No POIs in 7, there is routes/waypoints

I think there will be an API for syncing weight to SA one day, but I can’t promise anything on behalf of the company
BTW if this is already public, one more feature in new update will be up to 10 tiles which is great imho

@bulkan I definitely agree about missing intervals, manual calibration of altitude and connecting sensors like stryd. And to that list I would add the ability to set personal HR zones. With these features in place the Suunto 7 would be near perfect.

With these features the Suunto 7 would be a sports watch. These features would let me use the S7 for biking (mounted on the handle bar) and for kayaking (mounted on the deck). But I think another year will pass until these basic features will be integrated.

@pilleus for me the only thing missing anymore after the next update will be the sensor support with Suunto app. I really hope that Suunto will implement it even at the expense of battery life. But at least if I can have that option. For the time being I’ll be using my Grit X + OH1/ H10 for team sports (when the pandemic allows) and S7 for everything else.
-
@aeroild adjustable HR zones would be nice!
I’m guessing we probably won’t see sensor support until a chip comes out with the ability to do BLE while only utilizing the low power cores. I wonder if the 4100+ is capable of this .
