Movescount and route creation works again. Thanks god
Yes, so happy to see it! I thought it was gone forever, then went there yesterday to look at the stats on a run last year. And it was completely updated with my latest moves! Very pleased.

@zvonejan Its still missing for me as well.

I also vote for web interface. In fact I would vote for keeping MC to be honest. I have been a user for a long time and happy with it. Particularly the way I can manage settings on the watches, work with routes (import/export), etc. Editing the routes by adding way-points can be done in MC, but is probably very cumbersome in a iPhone.
I must say that I was not aware of this change. I just bought a Suunto 9 Baro and upgraded it from Ambit2 S. I was expecting some real improvements. As MC will be stopped, this is a serious disappointment.
And actually this is the 2nd time that Suunto is screwing up with software. Before MC, I was using Suunto Training Manager which could be used from a desktop/laptop without any internet connection. That was great. MC however required internet which I did not like at first. But in the meantime I am used to it.
Anyhow. Let’s hope Suunto realizes that it is not a good thing to degrade the software and apps that users like to use.

@summitman i switched from Ambit 2s to Suunto 5. I was disapointed that Suunto app has no official web interface since editing sport modes was much better in movescount than it is in suunto app. Activities are ale synced with sports tracker, so you can see your history on PC in sport tracker but compared to movescount, sports tracker looks like some school project and not web app for expensive watch. I hope suunto will change its mind and it will resurect movescount, add support for some missing features as gear tracking, activity crop, and as mobile app it can use suunto app. But as backend movescount is much better platform than sports tracker. I am new to Suunto 5, but if suunto app and sporrs tracker didn’t improve exponentialy in few months it will be my last suunto equipment and that is disaponting for me as i love this watch brand. But without proper software it is hard to use. I now i can migrate all moves to strava or other services, but i don’t pay for expensive watch just to use other services which i can use even without watch to track my activity.

Have you tried some of the 3rd parties like runalyze?
-
@tomas5 There are so many 3rd party sites, have you tried any of them? Many in my opinion are better than MC. MC will not be resurrected. Second, what are you missing from the mobile app? You state that the mobile app is not proper software, what is wrong with it?
-
@summitman I too managed through both of these changes. I was happy with the change to MC and now I think that SA offers me more than MC did. Neither was easy at first but I think users saw that in the long term Suunto made a good choice. Give them some time and see what happens.
-
I mainly think of the Suunto app as a watch sync tool for changing settings, adding routes, syncing activities, etc. Actually looking at my workouts is done primarily in Training Peaks and QS. Social aspect is handled by Strava. Personally I’d rather see tighter integration with existing 3rd party services like these than see Suunto spend time developing a web interface for us. There are so many great web interfaces for that kind of thing already.

@brad_olwin yes there are, but i expected ecosystem of some product manufacturer become better and better over time. But this is oposite direction where suunto is more and more dependent on 3rd party.
I liked movescount because it is better to check recorded activity on 22” screen than on small mobile screen.
I liked movescount becuase in sports mode editin i was able to change gps accuracy, recort interval, autopause etc.
I liked movescount because i could setup multiple sports modes and sync it letter and even choose which one i need in watch at a time. Now i need watch in bluetooth range to be able change anything.
I liked movescount because i could hardreset watch and sync everything back.
I liked movescount becase i can checked detailed graphs of recorded even, HR, Speed, Cadence with zoom tool. In suunto app on small screen it is not a curate and i didn’t find how to zoom graph.
In movescount on map i saw how hard was the part of the route by differend color based on HR. In suunto app it is only one red color.I think suunto app is good as alternative when you need to sync watch, when you need to do some quick change, when you need to check some of your recorded events. But it is not proper replacement of website accesible from computer with big screen.
I have strava account, but with ambit 2 i used strava only from time to time and usualy i checked all my moves in movescount and it was enough. Now i relly more on strava because it is hard to check something in more detailed view on phone small screen.

@brad_olwin and in other side even movescount didn’t have feature to crop activity if i forget to stop it after hike. And with multiple services it is synced to strava and other. But then when i crop/edit in one service this changes are not mirrored to another service so data are fragmented. In other hand if suunto didn’t abandone movescount but enhanced it with few popular functions it could be one and only service one could ever need.
