Hello. I have a new suunto 5, I put it on for a full charge and while I was sleeping and wearing it, the morning I woke up it was at 86% is it reasonable?

If you have 24 hour heart rate and sleep monitoring turned on, I would say it is normal. I am new to Suunto 5 also and expect to charge somewhere between every 3 to 7 days.

@argyrist hello, i just bought suunto 5 and noticed in 9 hours drop in battery from 100 to 81%. How is your experience with battery life after few months of ussage? I have HR on and sleep trackong on, notiffications off.

@tomas5 That seems normal to me. After experimenting with 24 hour heart monitoring and sleep tracking I turned them off and now a charge lasts me a week or so, less if I track several long exercises.

@pikeviewer by suunto specification batttery should last for 7 days in 24/7 tracking with notifications so i hoped that without notifications only with 24/7 tracking should work for 7 days on one chrage without problem. I will see after few days or weeks.

@tomas5 maybe 24/7 tracking stands for steps/cals, but not hr.

@tomas5 in my experience it also depends on how much you use it with the backlight on (and of course the gps etc.) In Winter when I have to press the light button more often or even leave it on in standby mode I have roughly 4-5 days - in summer when there is much more light longer in the evening I got 6 to 7 days… but for me it turned out that tracking workouts with best GPS quality is really what mattered most in battery usage, so for daily hikes and walks with the dog I normally adapt the gps settings and even turn of the display, which really makes a big difference (4 km with GPS in „good“ setting then only drain about 1-2 %)

@дима-мельниченко i don’t think so because in specifications there is section 24/7 and it includes sleep tracking, minimal daily hr, stress/recovery, steps, sleep tracking so if this didn’t include HR they should let people know in some note at least. But maybe i was too rush. After battery droped bellow 80%, battery drain dropped rapidly. Now it looks like it will last for 6-7 days if battery drain bellow 80% stays linear. I will come back in few days to share my experience. Maybe it will help to others like me when looking for this battery related questions.

@chrisa thanks for info. I don’t use gps at all now. Just 24/7 tracking with HR, sleep, without notifications and without backlight. I received watch few day ago and i didn’t have possibility to do any outdoor/indoor activity jet. So just watch and 24/7 tracking is in use. But it seems that battery drain is not so rapid under 80% of battery. So probably i was too rush. It looks like it will last for 6-7 days if current battery drain will stay in linear level. I will return with results after complete battery cycle.

I don’t use any kind of tracking, meaning that everything is disabled. Battery goes down 4-5% in 24h. For running, I only enable GPS (good), which seems to drain an average 1% for every 10 minutes of running.
