Sync FROM multiple (>1) Android devices, surely this IS supported now (2021)?

Haven’t used my Suunto devices since ski season terminated last year (got frustrated with the app, went to Garmin for my primary activity tracking), but recently did a safe/socially-distanced ski trip (we tried to be as careful as was humanly possible, no accounting for others, but resort was really good about watching stuff).
Anyway, I went to sync my 9 Baro, on the way home, and it wouldn’t work, on my Android phone (I had done a pair-sync to my Android tablet, the night before). It just kept saying “connecting”, and never got anywhere.
SURELY this has been addressed by now, is there no multipoint support on the 9 Baro, still (I can’t believe I’m actually asking this, in 2021, as a s/w and h/w driver design professional…)?
PLEASE tell me there’s just some little thing I’m missing in a setting somewhere? -
@pgrey I don’t think you can pair the same watch to two apps without unpairing the app from the watch first.

So if I forget to “de-pair” from my tablet, I can’t sync anything (or change anything, etc), until I get back to my tablet, or (presumably) reset the whole pairing on the watch or something?Is this also true of multiple watch support still (I have an old A3P, also used for winter sports)?
What-the-heck Suunto, let’s move past the early 2000’s, and have some BASIC BT multi-point support?
Is this pretty much NEVER going to be a priority (feature, if you can call it that, seems like BASIC functionality), for Suunto?I can literally sync FROM multiple watches, TO/FROM multiple devices, AND play music via BT-headset(s), on my Garmin device…
Not trying to be “whiny” here, just wondering “what in the world…”, or perhaps “why in the world can’t a $600 device connect/sync to >1 device” without a full un-pair/re-pair, EVERY time (I guess I do sound sort of whiny, perhaps it’s justified here)?

I think it’s the other way around… you need to forget the app from the watch side, not forget the watch from the app side -
@freeheeler on iOS you have to forget the watch from the app. Presumably the activities will be stored on the watch until you so sync though.

@freeheeler I’m pretty sure you can forget the app from the watch (it’s in the connection menu in settings) and pair to another phone

me too, because this is a function in the watch and I assume the firmware does not change when you connect to an iphone. but I don’t have an iphone and can not judge

While the 2021 title is catchy that doesn’t mean that each year more people work on tech nor that software advances that fast.

a bit off topic, but it took me some time researching the headphones that suit my requirements. I wanted to connect it to 2 devices at the same time and switch fast. All the Jabra and PLT are office products that have this option. But I wanted something from Sony or JBL. Sonys flagship that was available last year was not able to connect with 2 devices at the same time… but well, that was in 2020living sideways

@freeheeler Well, certainly a new phone! But you should be able to pair the old watch with a new phone easily enough. There’s a difference between pairing multiple watches with the same phone via SA; or pairing the same watch with multiple phones.

@freeheeler I run with Aftershokz bone conduction headphones. They’re great as you can still hear everything around you. It used to scare the bejeezus out of me running in the countryside when a cyclist would appear out of nowhere and whizz past! Now I can hear them coming…

yes, I know what you mean… from the cyclist point of view… the bell is somehow obsolete when the runners decide to run exactly in the middle of the country road… after some tries with the bell I slow down a bit and decide whether the right or left side is safer and then squeeze myself past them 
in my well working peripheric view I can then usually see some airpods…
I used to cycle with music, too and stopped it, not because I get scared by cars but because of general safety plus I learned that I should rather listen to my body than music (but that’s my personal finding).But is it really not possible to forget the app from the watch side?
I remember it was super cumbersome when my A3PS was still in use together with the S9B in the beginning, but became easier later. It should be an easy process for the user to use either 2 watches with one phone but also 1 watch with 2 phones IMHO. -
@freeheeler I’ve never tried to forget the phone from the watch side. Will have a look. Even if you turn Bluetooth/pairing off on the watch, I think you still need to ‘forget’ it in the Suunto app before you can pair a different watch.
I always try to run to one side to allow cyclists to pass. My worst ‘silent’ experience from pre-aftershokz days was a dog nipping at my ankle out of the blue. That was what persuaded me I needed a different way to listen to things whilst out and about in the middle of nowhere.
