I am not actually hiking, I am indoor working … not sure if this will positively / negatively impact this experiment.

This will have a big influence on battery life. Indoors the watch constantly has tough GPS conditions and will most likely consume more energy than outdoors.

So 6 hour 22 minutes “hiking”, airplane mode off (next time I can turn on and try), Good GPS, I have 4% battery left.

Like @Egika said, it is bad battery test conditions to be indoor.
At least, it may show that it should last at least … this duration.

Sorry, I have question about this. After the update, during activity the screen is always on? I can´t switch it off?
And second point I have set the display off and enabled only “double tap” on screen to see. But after the activity this is not set and I have to again change the settings on teh watch. There is enabled Tilt-to-wake off

Yes, this is a feature. It has the advantage to show your training data fields constantly and at the same time save energy by not enabling tilt-to-wake during the activity. This had caused issues with activities like paddling, where the display fully activated with each paddle stroke.
So now we got the best usability with least energy consumption. Try it! The low power always-on display is a special setting that makes the battery last veery long!

And second point I have set the display off and enabled only “double tap” on screen to see. But after the activity this is not set and I have to again change the settings on teh watch. There is enabled Tilt-to-wake off

And this is a bug. Work-around until this is fixed: Set the watch to your preferred setting (tap-to-wake) and then reboot (top left button press and hold).

Please avoid indoor tests. IT will deplete the baterry > x2 times faster

@Egika One more question. After the update, notiffication during the activity are not visible? I feel only vibration, but I think there is no massage on the screen. Am I right?

Now it shows live data without any battery issue using the low power processor.

In case that I now activate the Theater Mode to turn off the screen, this could improve a lot more the battery life on activities that I not need to check the display/data frequently?
                    Thank you!

@flypg you could activate theatre mode, and or push suunto app into the background (press home/menu button), but not sure you will notice significantly better battery life.
The always on data tracking screen is specially designed to use minimal battery life, and while its active its only using the low power coprocessor. on the odd occasion I have checked I didn’t notice any significant improvement to tracking battery life by switching off screen/and or putting app in background (not if in background - no notifications with auto-lap etc).

@jamie-bg I asked this because I had read about the low-power coprocessor, but I understand that the screen must also consume a significant percentage of battery to be ON, more when I do not need it sometimes at any time of the activity. But I really don’t know, thanks anyway, I think I’ll do a test of both ways to compare the battery level after the activity and if it is worth leaving the screen off.

@flypg - seems a bit weird, but then S7 is all about choice.
Part of the reason for buying S7 is take advantage of the fitness suite and having the always on data tracking screen (while still getting up to 18hrs of tracking life), especially as you have the active HR zones which I find very useful to help me keep the right level of effort in my activity tracking.
