@dominikbalko in movescount you can’t change the minimum speed. I also read the app developer manual and in my opinion there is also no possibility to do it via app.
-
@marcrie OK, I have browsed the apps available for watch, do you think this one should work as reminder to start activity after pause? Because I often forget to restart activity, that is why I am using auto-pause.

@dominikbalko
nice
… you’re waking up sleeping dogs and pour salt in almost healing wounds -
@freeheeler Sorry, I did not want to start a new thread as the auto-pause was related to this.
-
@dominikbalko looks good but just try it ;-). Maybe you have to set the value ‘3’ in line 10 to 1. At the moment the alarm beeps only if you are faster than 3km/h. I don’t know how fast you climb :-).
-
@Fenr1r have you read Sanderson (Way of Kings)? You remind me of Wit (aptly named).
-
@fazel maybe one of Elon Musks satellites started, hit a gps satellit and pushed it 3500m out of orbit
-
@dominikbalko
don’t get me wrong, it just reminded me how great those ambit apps were. I don’t entirely miss them but it is just great what’s possible -
am facing a similar issue when going skitouring, I get always 200/300 meters more than in reality. I have Fusedalti activated, and noticed that the altitude is decreasing costantly when temperature drops (e.g exiting the car before starting the tour). I suspected the barometer and sent it for RMA but Suunto claims the barometer is ok.
As I would like to avoid setting manually the altitude every time before startin, is there any other workaround?
-
@zzmike76
is the behaviour different when you set the altitude manually before the start? -
@freeheeler yes when setting it manually it is more precise. I realized the skitour sport mode was set to auto, I will try this weekend with altitude mode only.
With my SSWHR I never had to set the altitude manually and readings were correct
-
@zzmike76
you are talking about the alti-baro mode that switches automatically. I don’t have experience with that since the settings in my A3PS was always alti. Maybe (!) the watch does go back to baro during slow altitude changes even during an activity? Is that possible at all?What I was asking for: do you manually adjust the altitude value before you start? If you do that within 15min before the start FusedAlti is deactivated and can not do corrections caused by weather changes etc

In the A3P, the mode switches after 15 minutes of no altitude change. At my place we have negligible altitude changes so my A3P was almost always in baro mode. In movescount it was possible to select how the watch should deal with pressure changes. (variable altitude vs fixed altitude)
This option has changed in SA and S9 combination. Now I still believe the X minutes of no significant altitude change, switches the watch to Baro mode, but it is not possible to select the mode in activity again.
This is why I have an average of 250m total ascend and descend during a windsurf session since I record them with my S9. On my A3P this was a flat line because it was kept on the same altitude and the pressure changes were interpreted as weather changes. -
@surfboomerang
250m ascent is a lot for a windsurf! …unless you do a lot of high airs
I once went surfboard paddling here in the lake and came to something like 17’000m ascent caused by the frequent submerging into the high density water.Isn’t it still possible to setup these things for A3PS in movescount?
How is it handled if you set it up for baro but now you want to have it changed to either automatic or alti?
Does a default setup overwrite MC A3PS settings from SA once you sync? -
@freeheeler I have no idea if it’s still possible. I don’t own the A3P anymore.
When I bought the S9B, I used it with movescount the first two activities. After that I switched to SA. -
@freeheeler no I never adjusted the altitude manually. I suspect the auto alti-baro setting is having issues in getting the right values, as the altitude is rapidl going well below the real one. Will try on weekend with altitude only profile
-
@freeheeler yes it is still possible to change the values in movescount
-
so today I went skitouring, I set both profiles (watch and skitouring activity) to altitude, I went to the place (I started from Realp -1538 meters).and then i manually set the reference altitude .Still I see start and end altitude completely wrong. ,respectively 1474 and 1388 ! I suspect I am doing something wrong?
-
@zzmike76
nice, what was your summit?
maybe, what you could have done wrong: setting the altitude manually. It switches off FusedAlti and if there is weather change, hence different pressures, then FusedAlti can’t do its magic.
But the weather is pretty stable between the north and Tessin at the moment afaik… can you share the alti graph? -
@freeheeler easy going, went to Tälligrat
Weather was super stable, my understanding of setting manually the altitude is that it should avoid the FusedAlti discrepancies?
