Ambit 3 Peak Route Support for Suunto App
-
@mlakis It happend. You can no longer check activity in Movescount. Only the application for the phone or other services after connecting to movescount remained
-
@manfred do you know: is it still possible to connect the Ambit 3 to the Movescount app and edit sport modes and sync routes?

No

the answer is :
no route or settings sync with Movescount APP, but yes with Movescount WEB and watch connected with Suuntolink

What you expected to happen ? They only announced this
Since activities are no more synced to Movescount, an update for Suunto app to mark activities on Ambits as synced would be great, so SuuntoLink wouldn’t sync the same activities that were already synced. Plus, would clear the memory full notification.

@mff73 Crippled route builder spitting out 0s for ascent and descent values. I’d hardly call that “available”.
-
@gavin-boddy I tried the switch from a3 peak to 9 baro. I am using the 9 baro for almost 1.5 years now, but I am still missing the a3 peak.
Which watch would you choose, when you have to switch? (I am tempted by the instinct solar)Thanks!
-
So, can we now call it officially “Digital Abandonment” after the “Digital Transition” phase?
Except for the moves exporting to mobile app which has happened a long time ago, it seems that all the work that Suunto has put into supporting Ambits (which continue being sold) can be summed up to just turning switches off.
-
@mlakis it really is a shame to just kill an entire watch line by simply stopping the software support…
-
@theguyfromthesummit
I tempted S9 Baro Titanium Redbull X-Alps
couldn’t think of any better jewellery for my wrist! -
@freeheeler looks nice, but overall I am disappointed by the 9baro
-
@andrasveres I totally agree with what you say about marking activities…
On the other hand, the satellites are updated when syncing with Suunto App?
-
I have a provocatory proposal,
if they think that turning on the SA function to upload routes on the Ambit3 family, is not convenient for their politics, why at least didn’t they give this option as a Paid function…
IMHO it’s a better way to squeese out some extra money from some disapponted customers that otherwise are only lost customers… -

Yes, optimizing GPS is possible with Suunto app.

IMHO it’s a better way to squeese out some extra money from some disapponted customers that otherwise are only lost customers…I think this would send bad message to the customers, especially new customers. That could be understood as an announcement what will happen to the newer products as well. I doubt they would be happy to know that their expensive new watch will lose features after some time unless they pay more…
It would only be fair if they start with the practice of supporting their hardware for a some time (2-3 years?) and charge for some of the features afterwards, with new, still unreleased products. But still I highly doubt this will attract anyone.
So yes, there are people that love suunto watches so much that would even pay to continue using they as they used to, but I’m pretty sure suunto would not do it as it would probably negatively affect their image…
But, I’d be, on the other hand, interested in some kind of suunto leasing, offering always the newest product for a fixed monthly price. That could include an option of fast replacement of broken/damaged product no question asked…

I agree with you on the perception. But ambits never synced routes via app.
-
@andré-faria
What do you mean? Ambit3 did sync everything through the app, a2 and original ambit of course did not have bluetooth. -
@andré-faria , I’m having a deja vu moment here - https://forum.suunto.com/topic/5677/suuntolink-not-working/7?_=1613152933736
