Suunto7 and HR belt and without Google
-
@Brad_Olwin WearOS is the system running on the S7 (kernel, libraries, services). The Suunto wear app is a app using the system like any other app installed on the watch.
In settings - apps - system apps you can see all the Suunto apps listed. And the WearOS apps from Google (android).
-
@pilleus There is a WearOS app on the iPhone that is necessary to set up the watch and is communicating with the watch, in addition to the Wear OS on the watch (operating system). If the S7 is disconnected from the phone WearOS app it will reset the watch. @jthomi has been asking if the watch can be used without any Google apps installed on the phone (or I misunderstood) and I do not think so as the WearOS app on the phone is necessary as far as I know.
-
@Brad_Olwin The question is if the S7 can be used without a Google account. and it’s a no.

Has anyone tested Strava app with HR monitor on S7? From yesterday HR tracking via BT is back to Strava
-
@Maryn it’s the Strava app on the phone, not on the S7
-
@pilleus WearOs Strava app doesn’t support HR sensor?
-
@Maryn Strava WearOS app uses the wrist hr of the Suunto 7
-
@Maryn - If i remember correctly I think SportyGo allows wearing of HR belt.
Not sure if that can then be integrated into suunto app data, suspect not, which is why I wish suunto would enable this feature for the S7. -

And Google Fit.
-
@pilleus Googlefit export to SA? Does it work?
-
@Maryn via SyncMyTracks it is possible, but the synced information is very basic. Not really an option.

thanks

@Maryn - I use SyncMyTracks to sync across my strength training as the google fit version i am on is superb (not sure if on latest version for wear os, but suspect may not be as some people say a recent update has nerfed it - while others saying it hasn’t).
