Suunto 7 swimming pool activity
-
Managed to get in the pool before the next lockdown, and while I didn’t swim a lot, only did about 1km I finally got to see pool swim tracking and have the following come and pros.
Cons:
Type of stroke -backstroke was correctly identified and so was freestyle, however it also identified breaststroke as freestyle -can’t it identify breaststroke, or if it is supposed to someone needs to reach the Suunto Devs what a correct breaststroke is. It’s very different from freestyle and should be easily identifiable.
No interval timing is shown. Should be shown with lap detail and can be shown in stroke type.Pros:
Correctly counted number of laps and hence distance
SWOLF seems reasonable
Like the way laps are laid out in the app
Heart rate send to have tracked well
Love how touch screen locked and were still able to make all changes via buttons.
Also like that even with suunto app running in background the touch screen would stay locked until menu button was pressed which would then allow touch screen use.
With no suunto app running touch screen fully active in pool was still very usable when required, though best to lock screen when not using (would be good to have an option to customise quick settings as would replace battery and find phone with lock touch screen and possibly WiFi or another setting).Overall very usable as long as you don’t mind seeing breaststroke tagged as freestyle.
