Are you sure about this POI not being able to get uploaded to a3p anymore? I uploaded few last weekend with cable and suuntolink.
It certainly is with the Spartan Ultra; once we can’t use Movescount we can’t use POI’s.
Oh yes, I forgot about Spartans… That’s truly outrageous. Unbelievable that they are killing movescount and let users wait them to return features in their new app.

@Ennoch so it is different for Ambit/Traverse as they will keep MC in some way.
But with out POIs etc you know the KEY FEATURES of a GPS watch
-
@lohtse calm down, breath, you still will have POIs.

And for those of us with SU’s? Ah yeah, we’re getting fucked.

WHEN!!! that should have been one of the first things we get… As to we will get them. how many times have we heard that???

@lohtse pois are not going anywhere
Also word has it that MC wont shutdown earlier than the POIS FOR SPARTANS (to be clear) come in the Suunto app

Okay, thanks for confirming this @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos - it’s the first time I’ve had any confirmation of this from anyone at Suunto, and if Suunto had made this statement when asked it would have saved a whole lot of anger and frustration/stress. Presumably this is why Movescount appears to still be working past the drop-dead date?

You already have them

Still on the Suunto online shop the Ambits are advertised as compatible with Movescount for route creation and compatible with apps… I hope the watch box doesn’t advertise movescount.
I really find it unethical not to show in red bold 72px characters what is happening with the downgrade of the ambits. A watch that is still being sold.

@Ennoch Should be one way or another stated later perhasp this week or when I get a go to post this here.
That said, this is in many ways ALSO an outcome driven by this conversation AND the iOS + A3 issues people have been posting here

Don’t take this as a personal attack because it’s not, but are you living in a parallel universe, or have some special version of the App? Because for the last two years Suunto have been telling us to switch to the App, yet for the last two years (and to this day) the App still doesn’t have POI’s. We’ve been told that Movescount was finally dead as of yesterday (i.e. we must use the App) and as of today there is still no way of putting POIs on the watch via the app. If I had done as Suunto had tried to pressure us into and gone for the App from its inception my watch would have been virtually useless these last two years.

Boy, I really wish you’d told us that before I swapped MC App for SA on my “Spartan Phone”. I couldn’t get Spartan->SuutoLink->MCweb to work before, anyway.
-
@Ennoch what part of “Ambit users can still use MC and MC supports POIs” you do not understand?

Okay, that’s definitely good news - I’m glad I’ve still got two phones with Movescount on them!
It really shouldn’t take a bunch of users shouting about this on a forum for Suunto to see it’s a needed feature on a navigation watch, but I do appreciate you being a liaison to Suunto, and the fact you share more information than anyone else from Suunto with these issues. Thanks!

Well I can’t even get Suunto App to work with my watch(reinstalled it) watch says it paired SA says it isn’t. Uninstalled SA and reinstall MC and pairs and works instantly… Have rebooted both phone and watch cleared caches and still SA will not pair with the Ambit.

@mlakis Apparently (if I got you right) “stripping down” MC iOS/Android is not free and may face technical issues. And even if done, guys on this thread would still be unhappy having two apps instead one.
The Ambit3 Peak I bought was not free also (April 2020), so it is for all who bought their watches and are now facing technical issues!
Suunto decided to strip down the web interface, the same could be done also for the mobile apps, and later they could move them to Suunto app. As @isazi said, the whole digital transition started before 2 years…2 years!
I don’t want to say the same thing again and again, the point is that Suunto decided to not respect their customers and clearly it was a DECISION, not something technical which could not be overcome.
