Suunto wear app crashes and watch reboot during run
-
Same for me. Start training om the S7 and THE clock reboots and sometimes goes back to watch face. For No reason. Have rebooted and factory reset.
Did not happen before last update.

I think I am having the almost exact same issue, except mine only occurs whilst following a route.
Screen goes black, watch vibrates, returns to watch face, activity tracking is lost. All other apps on the watch function as normal, but the Suunto Wear App has crashed and will only work again after a soft reset.
This has only happened since the recent software update and only whilst following a route.
I have done both soft resets, and disconnect & reset, neither fixed it.

@olymay does it always do that following a route?
-
@isazi Yes it does, every single time I try to follow a route and it has been three different routes. However, as of yesterday afternoon, it now does the reboots and crashes during normal exercise tracking and NOT following a route. This is getting silly and I am on the verge of sending it back.
-
@olymay ok we have to follow up the conversation in one place.
Hiking and running crashes following a route?
I’m starting to think that is a real bug this thing.
-
@Bulkan Running crashes now every time I use it, whether following a route or not. This has rendered to watch useless for activity tracking.
Yes, this is a real and serious bug.
-
@olymay which smartphone do you use?
-
@pilleus I have a Google Pixel 4XL running Android 11 and all apps fully updated.
-
@olymay This may be a hardware issue, I would contact support as this is not normal.
-
@Brad_Olwin I experienced it on two S7 watches and after a factory reset or two and the annoying of the battery optimisation and the autostart of the Suunto app on the phone the problem is solved.
-
@pilleus On my phone I have the Suunto App exempt from battery optimisation and it has never autostarted (I can’t even see an option to turn that on or off).
-
I have taken a video of the issue as it happening today. This was recorded indoors, so there is no GPS lock, however it does the same thing even with a lock.
-
@olymay I had the same happen to me today. Rebooted once, and other times it went to the watch face. Is it still a problem for you?
-
@kripar It is, but there is a pretty simple workaround. I believe there is a fix for this coming in the next update (which should be soon, fingers crossed!)
1 - go into the watch settings and disable ‘power saver tilt’
2 - immediately restart the watch
3 - check to make sure ‘power saver tilt’ is off
4 - in the WearOS app on your phone, make sure to toggle off both setting under silence phone when wearing watchthere are a few other combinations that apparently work, but this is the option i tried and it has worked for me.
