Suunto 7 - PXDZ.200824.005 (H MR2) Bug Issues
-
Anyone finding any bugs.
I have found the following AOD/Tilt to wake/Cinema mode bugs;
set AOD to off, tilt to wake off, 24/7HR off/ touch to wake on. Ran that for 16 hours and then put watch on DND and cinema mode, while on charge (so not distrubed and so no light from ambient screen).
This morning decided to go with AOD on and found the following issues:- Screen wouldn’t stay on. Checked the cinema mode on the quick settings and it was off. Tried chaning watch faces, Tried switching AOD on and off. Eventually I tried the cinema mode setting, turned it on and off in quick settings and that triggered something so that the AOD switch now works. So not quite sure whether its AOD or Cinema mode - but seems it can glitch.
- Discovered that tilt to wake had somehow switched itself on - never use it I have too much wrist movement (drinking water etc) - so prefer touch to wake. When I switched it off it went off. So not a major bug but definitely annoying. Not sure when it switched itself on,but suspect it occurred with first issue.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos OK - point 2 might make sense as while still connected to wear os app, it somehow disconnected from suunto app and wouldn’t reconnect. Had to reconnect to wear os and suunto app to get it to sync my tracked activity. Also noticed there was a quite a bit of lag before it updated yesterdays steps - seem to have lost connection sometime yesterday.

@Jamie-BG The thing (bug) is:
Suunto app reads the tilt to wake setting and stores it once at boot time
You use the app and then you finish using it , and restores it.
So if you have changed the setting after the boot time it will restore back a wrong value if you use the suunto app (watch app I am refering always).
To solve this:
- When you change the tilt to wake setting reboot the watch. Then the Suunto app on the watch will bring back the correct setting after using it

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yup! Good description.
There seems to be another change in wear OS:
Befor the update the cinema mode would be re-set to off when pressing a button and thus ending it.
With the update the cinema mode is kept enabled even if the watch is woken up with a button press. It will go back to cinema until it is actively toggled to off. -
please fix this problem suunto use to open i

@Egika - and its a problem as the quick setting icon doesn’t stay lit up so you don’t know that you are in cinema mode.

er - no. for the the cinema mode icon stays blue (active).
-
@Egika - restart for connectivity issues may have fixed that, but when I had my issue it didn’t which is why I had some many problems trying to work out why my screen wasn’t AOD.

My wife and I are both wearing Suunto 7s and updated our watches last week. We both also use Android devices and use the Messages app for texts. Since the update, our Messages app isn’t syncing/updating with our phones. (Both of our watches are experiencing this issue independently.)
Now, text messages are still appearing as notifications in the watch, but when you click “open” on Messages or open the Messages app, it doesn’t update (currently shows texts from the day we updated our watches to the lastest software).
I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling Messages, rebooting the watch, etc. No luck yet.

@cjp131 I got more reports of this
-
@cjp131 please also ping Google , aka on their messages app support
-
@cjp131 - which android phones are you using and are you sure that you are using the android messaging app and not the manufacture’s messaging app?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Will do! Let me know if you hear anything on this as as a fix, and I’ll be sure to report back if I get anywhere with this issue as well
-
@Jamie-BG we’re on Pixel 3 devices, running Android 11. We’re using Google’s “Messages” app, which was running and syncing properly before the latest Wear OS update on Suunto 7.
-
@cjp131 I have forwarded this already

@cjp131 sorry to hear that, especially as I don’t have this issue. Apologies re lateness of reply - wasn’t sure my last text message was correct or not, so had to get someone to send me one. It all synced up fine.
