No steps recorded when tracking circuit training

I am used to track Circuit Training with the Suunto app on my Suunto 7. The workout is saved properly to Google Fit, but it always says zero steps which is not correct as I would expect 500/1000 steps at least (I walk around, there are some exercises about running / walking)
