Activities in file system?
-
@Brad_Olwin yes, me too! Very good news but I can imagine that we will have to wait looooong time to see a new s7. I expect a new s7 firmware maybe late september? I “pray” for a stryd integration

I doubt that. The S7’s focus is clearly not the hifh end runner with BT pods and ultra races every weekend.
That’s the differentiation in the portfolio to S9 etc -

That’s the differentiation in the portfolio to S9 etcI agree with @Egika, integration of BT devices is not the focus. In addition, continuous BT connections will drastically reduce battery life, this is evident when I play podcasts when doing Pilates. I don’t listen to anything but the outdoors when I run unless on a dreadmill, which is a very rare occurrence for me.

@Brad_Olwin I am with you!
Still I would tend to think BT LE consumes less power that the LEDs of the wrist heart rate sensor.
So this one alone could actually save battery.
Of course it doesn’t apply to extra sensors like Stryd etc -

Energy consumption of BLE sensor profiles and BT audio is quite different, like <1mA vs tens of mAs.
Even though both use “continious” connection, bitrate and required encoding/decoding resources are not comparable.
Just think about how long a coin cell lasts in a HR belt or how many hours Stryd lasts per charge.LE Audio is probably going to change that to some extend, but it should still take about 6 months before something hits the shelves.

Have you considered using an activity sync app. I use SyncMyTracks to ensure that i get my activities across all the apps I want them. Usually not an issue with Fit and Suunto app (may be slight delays but is usually good at picking up), sometimes Strava needs a bit of assistance.
The app can be set up to pick up all activities, including historical. Might be a quick option rather than trying to find it in the bowels of android.

Thank you for back on topic!
My issue is, that the watch has recordings in it, that have not synced anywhere yet and also don’t sync to SA.
So the data is in the watch only.
How to get it from there? -
Where are you seeing the activities - if you see them in google fit, or any other fitness app that is included in the list that SyncMyTracks works with, then download the app and set up your accounts for each of the apps you want to see that activity in. When you set the sync settings, include all activities, and then sync across the platforms.
Typically the app does a good job on picking up duplicate activities i.e. if on Fit and on Suunto app will ignore, occasionally it will miss one, and so you will need to check through history in each app to delete the occasionall miss once the sync has completed. -
@Jamie-BG sorry, maybe got you wrong in the first place.
You suggest to check if the watch synced the activities to Google Fit and to get if from there into other services?Good idea!
Let’s see if I can manage to get a FIT file from there somewhere -
@Egika - you are saying your watch recorded them, but you can’t get them into the Suunto app? If that is the case I would try and sync you watch with Google Fit and see if they pull into Google Fit; if they do you can then sync them back to Suunto or any other app that SyncMyTracks works with.
-
@Jamie-BG Good one!
-
@Jamie-BG I understand.
Now the S7 syncs to Google Fit including the track and full data only after the update.
Let’s see if this holds true also for those missing activities from before the update.
Will see.
